This is a very nice beginner set for the money. I found that the Guitar is the highlight of the set, so I will start with it. The neck is well made with easy access to the truss rod adjustment and a nice smooth finish that allows me to slide my hand along without catching. The guitar is also solid in the hand. It arrived out of tune, but tuning was straight forward and did not take long. If there is a genuine fault with the guitar, I couldn't find it. The amp is also exactly what I need. The guitar and amp make a nice clean sound. The set also includes a couple of adapters to allow use of non-professional equipment, a solid clip on tuner, a set of extra strings, and a basic gig bag. I wouldn't want to use the gig bag for transporting the guitar, but it is better than nothing. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking to start with guitar on a truly tight budget.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value and Perfect For Beginners

Great for beginners. I bought the green as it was on sale and I was looking for a cheap guitar to travel with and keep up my practice. This was the perfect choice and the green is actually very nice... not cheesy as I was expecting. The strap is not great and the gig bag... well I tossed it the second I took it out of the box. It was basically a dust cover. Zero padding and very flimsy. The amp is ok at best, but again if this is for a beginner it’s perfectly fine. For my purposes I would buy this kit again or as a gift for a beginner. However, even though this isn’t a high end guitar I would still recommend investing in a better gig bag and a decent strap.

Guitar was shipped quickly, and arrived before expected. That said, the box it came in, originally secured with 4 pieces of tape, only had one remaining upon delivery. When that piece of tape was cut, the box broke in half, spilling the contents on the floor.

Fortunately, the instrument was well packed inside the gig bag. The zipper on the gig bag tore off when it was first opened. The guitar was in beautiful shape...except...it was advertised as "Transparent Green with Black Picguard". It is a nice green, but the picguard, knobs and back plate are WHITE! Why can't the ship what they sell? At this point I was ready to ship the whole thing back, but I would have to find a box.

The guitar is a nice beginner's model, and the body and neck are flawless. It comes with cheap strings that stretch like crazy the first few days. The little tuner the seller provides works well, and I recommend keeping it on the guitar for a couple of days, as it will help you while the strings stretch to their final destination.

The little 10 watt amplifier is fun, but don't plan on playing at Wood Stock with it. I used it outside on my lanai, and my neighbors have yet to complain.

Final thoughts; Fast shipping, but I wish better packaging. I am very disappointed by the color issue. The gig bag is unpadded, but would be decent if the maker' quality control were better. I'm still P.O.'d about the color issue. Assembly and quality are quite good , over all. With better strings, and perhaps better winding machines, this guitar will move from a low range to mid range instrument. Did I mention I'm still irritated by the wrong color picguard?

So strait out of the box for a complete beginner this is pretty good. It plays well for the price, the amp is super cheap but I wasn't expecting much there anyway. But it does get pretty loud and with a new pedal it'll do for now. Now after some time I have lowerd the action so the strings are closer to the fretboard, straightened the neck by adjusting the truss rod, set the intonation at the 12th fret and it sounds way better than it did in the beginning. The pickups are muddy but they work. All the electronics work and there's no bad buzzing or other noises while playing. The tuner it comes with works really well, it uses vibration so you can tune unplugged from the amp. The strings I would change after you learn a few things, they're not great and I had to press pretty hard with them. Overall this is a great beginner guitar, comes with everything you need to get started and it's pretty good quality.

Did not care for the picks, shoulder strap, or bag that was part of the package. The picks were entirely too stiff for a beginners set. Ended up getting some Fender medium picks which were excellent. The strap is very cheap literally lasted 1 day before it was replaced the guitar apparently is too heavy for the very cheap strap that comes with package and guitar is not heavy. Same goes for the bag is not a bag you would want to transport guitar in is basically a cover. The guitar itself has been great for the most part. Doesn't seem to keep in tune more than a day, but isn't grossly out if tune. Plays well though. The other items are what you get for the price I guess.
