5.0 out of 5 stars Great Strings at a Great Price

I use a lot of strings, and this is a great deal on these 80/20 bronze strings. They're bright and lively without being harsh sounding. They don't last as long as phosphor bronze ones in my opinion, but I change strings before every show or recording session, so they always get changed before they start to lose their life anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars My only go-to strings now for my acoustic

    I've been a 10g player since I was 16.
I also used to buy only DRs. Until I only had a couple dollars left and needed a cheaper pack of strings. Found these, and they brighten up my guitar and have a way better life span, and sound way fuller than above mentioned other brand.

My guitar (by choice) is the Joymusic $40 acoustic. I love cheaper sounding guitars and these actually make that thing sound amazing. They also did well when I had my full sized Jasmine. But.. I love my little guitars that give a more amateur, campfire player sound..

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the three packages had two 12g strings instead of a 16g and a 12g.

Great set of guitar strings. I have been buying old wrecked guitars and repairing them. These are perfect for acoustics. One of the packages had two "High-E" strings --12g-- instead of both 16g-"B" and 12g-"High-E". HHMmm. I went to the local guitar shop for a spare 16g --cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars I use D'Addario strings on almost all of my guitars

I currently have 9 guitars and 11 basses, and I have used D'Addario strings on my guitars since the early 1970's. They work well, they stay in tune, sound great and are easy on the fingers. I've tried most of the guitar strings on the market, and while most of them are quite good, I still find myself going back to D'Addario strings.

5.0 out of 5 stars D'Addario Guitar Strings - Acoustic Guitar Strings

I am restoring a number of vintage guitars and needed new strings. I have been playing guitars for about 50 years now and D'Addario strings have been my favourites for most of that time. They are always good quality and they sound wonderful. Best of all is that they are budget friendly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Initial impression: Terrible. Verdict after 2 months of playing them: really good.

That might sound too drastic, but...
I was replacing a set of Elixirs out of which I got 2,5 months of daily playing. I put on strings from low E to high E, getting each string in tune before I put on the next one. As I was tuning the G string, D string which I tuned right before it suddenly snapped. What the hack? I've been playing this particular guitar since 2012, but I decided to examine the G tuner hole to see if there was something wrong with its edge, but it was fine. So there goes another string from a different pack.
Now on to the way they sounds on my jumbo Alvares. The sound is unbalanced, over bright, lacks in bass and is forced.
But the true problem with these strings that they can only be played with a pick. I spend more time playing fingerstyle and these strings are like a perfect chainsaw for fingernails. Would I ever buy these string again? No. Would I put them on my guitar if somebody gave them to me as a gift? No. Would I give them to somebody as a gift? Well if I wouldn't like the person that they were going to strangulate with these strings - I would!

After several weeks of playing I actually like the played-in sound.
Upgrading my vote to 3 stars.

    Amendment 2
These strings still ruin my nails like no other strings ever have, when I strum strum them without a pick. But that aside, after two months of playing them daily with sweaty fingers, they still sound neither dull or nor muffled, but rather surprisingly pleasant and balanced. My favorite Elixir Polyweb would have lost their original sound by now and their famed coating would have pealed and be hanging off the strings. But these strings just keep going.
Upgrading my vote to 4 stars.

All right - it has been three months of playing these strings, at least an hour every day. And - despite them even sometimes being exposed to my cheddary fingers (wine + cheese + guitar), they still sound GOOD.
This is truly remarkable. Yes, Polyweb keeps the bright side of played-in sound longer, but no strings have ever kept it up to such abuse without sounding like a dying cat. (I love cats.)
