5.0 out of 5 stars great condition, so fun, reasonable size!

I live in a 300 sq ft studio and do not have enough room for the bigass standing keyboard I had in my childhood bedroom. LOVE this keyboard, great value for money, graphics are good, keys are sensitive but not loud (meaning pressing the key doesn’t make a loud thunk, you really just hear the note), and there’s a great sturdy handle on the keyboard for easy transportation. I’m so happy with this purchase!! of course the bright red color is a bonus :^) basically no assembly required, only putting the music rest into the keyboard. the power cord is a bit short but it works just fine for me and there are always extension cords!

This lightweight, battery powered thing is fun. They should mention if you want to use it as a MIDI controller they don't give you the cable, and even if you're like me and you have a box full of cables, they didn't use a standard cable. It's "Micro B USB," or something like that. I ordered one and am now waiting for it, though I have the keyboard.

Really, all alone it's like a toy. If you just want to play around, this is awesome. If your kid is easy going, he may think this is awesome. It's not really a useful musical instrument based on what it does with it's tiny speaker, but connected by USB this is a very nice 61-key controller that can be used to trigger "good" sounds through your computer, or for piano lesson programs that require "MIDI over USB," which is what this does. I like it, especially since it's lightweight.

I usually play guitar but need a MIDI controller in my studio and this is very good for that. Nice feel on the keys, although the whole unit is not heavy; the keys are described as "weighted. They're restricted so they feel weighted, allowing Casio to really keep the weight down, and so you can toss this to the side when it's not in use. One improvement would be power over USB, which the Akai boards do. This board requires either batteries or a dongle (included) for some reason. Have fun. Good lightweight board!

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and basic, but well worth the price!

This is a great basic keyboard! I'm learning piano, so its nice to not have to invest a ton of money to start. This basic has everything I need to learn. Plenty of sound options, good weight and feel. Overall a solid start to a lifelong process in learning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well...

I purchased this, my first adult keyboard (to learn on), at 47 years old. I bought it "Used - Like New" and there are scuffed keys, body scuffs and what appears to dried mud? splashes in some spots. I used alcohol prep pads to try to clean some of the marks, but most of them didn't budge. It also came with instructions in Spanish and French, but no English. I'm hoping I can find it online and download it. I'll probably start with "sheet" music on my iPad.

Those issues aside, it seems pretty nice for the price. It's considerably larger than I thought it would be, especially for a "slim" keyboard. When I shopped for cases or just a protective sleeve, they were all way bigger than this 61 key keyboard!

I was drawn to this specific model because of the carry handle and the fun red color. The music stand is nice, but big and bulky! It just sits in the carry handle hole. Casio is a good brand as far as I know, so for an entry level keyboard, it fit the bill. The included stand in this bundle is nice, although I didn't necessarily need it. The included headphones I hate because they sit ON my ears, and I just don't like anything touching my ears! Luckily I have a nice set of gaming headphones that are retro "cans" style so nothing touches my delicate ears.

Hindsight being 20/20, I should have just ordered it new and probably would have gotten one without scuffed keys and whatnot. Lesson learned! As a hobbyist just wanting to learn and play here and there at home, it will work good.

This little keyboard is SO MUCH FUN!! I own an 88-key digital piano which is much more expensive but I never play it!! For the price, can't believe all you get with this fun starter pack!! I bought the red one for fun and it's light, portable, VERY easy to use, and for the price the sounds are unbelievable!! Shout out to the reviewer who recommended this over the RockJam -- ABSOLUTELY worth the additional $$ -- and would also be an AWESOME starter pack for any beginner. Great songwriter's companion & FUN!! I'm becoming a Casio convert!!
