This guitar is great! Fast shipping as described. The amp is tiny but will get you started. My son is 11 and it’s perfect.

Usual Strat style. Quality is more than the price.
For a person whose hobby is buying off named guitars, this is a find. Also, gig bag is good. I'd buy this again, knowing the beautiful metallic charcoal color.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Lot of Gear for. A Little Bit of Money
Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2024
After many years of not playing guitar I decided to get back into it… but I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money until I knew for sure I’d actually stick with it this time. This package has everything you need to get started (or if you wanted to get your kid started on the guitar without breaking the bank. Out of th box, everything works as expected. For a guitar kit in the $150 price range, I didn’t expect to get a top of the line Fender Stratocaster… but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this guitar. For what you get, it’s worth the price of admission. The only negative I have so far the quality of the tuners, while the guitars stays in tune once the strings are settled, the tuners feel in line with what you expect from a guitar in this price range. The fit and finish are pretty good though, and even though the action (distance the strings are from the fret board) is pretty high… all of the frets ring true. I could probably take it to a local guitar shop and get a $40 set up on the guitar to improve the intonation and the action… but I’m not going to worry about that now. To re-learn the basics, this little jewel has been just perfect, and plays fine for what I need right now. The kit includes a canvas style gig bag that is not something I will use other than for storage in my house. If I were going to take it on a trip, I’d want something with more protection. The little battery powered amp is awesome. It feels flimsy, and sounds a little “tinny”… but for a micro amp it is a ton of fun. The provided tuner works, but it takes coin cell batteries, which is a not ideal in my book, as I prefer the rechargeable tuners. I got the dark blue color, and I think it is a sharp playing guitar that sounds great in most of the pick-up positions… although I’d like to pug it into a big amp system to see how it sounds through a high end cabinet. Maybe one day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good beginner guitar at an unbeatable price, just hope they keep the quality high.

So, I've owned a few "beginner guitars", and have a good base to compare this to. I've owned two Fender Squier Stratocasters, and I have to say that this guitar beats them in this price range in most areas. Based at least on this example I, (I got the Canyon GI-150 in Surf Green, which is beautiful) the only place I can say that the Squier wins out is in finish quality on the wood work. Initially based on the product images I was a bit worried about the head stock shape of this guitar as in the promotional images it looks a bit fat, but I am pleasantly surprised that in person it looks very well proportioned and more or less ideal. That said, I did find a few blemishes on wood work, basically like little pock marks where it looks like the guitar may have bumped into something, or just wasn't given quite enough attention to in sanding or maybe even wood selection, but overall they are miniscule and they do not detract in a major way from the experience playing this guitar, also they are purely cosmetic. In terms of play, this guitar wins over a strat hands down, I was surprised to find that it held it's tuning fairly well out of the box for a new guitar, it also has a nice stiff action on the whammy bar, in terms of the threading of the handle as well as the spring tension, and returns back to normal tuning well after slamming it a bit. Guitar was pretty well intonated out of the box, needs a little work to dial it in perfectly, but again in comparison to the Squier, at least the two that i've owned, it needed a lot less work than those. Great that bit comes with a humbucker, and I can confirm that this guitar has a much fuller tone than expected, and surprisingly the little tuner and amp it comes with both work pretty well also (be careful to make sure the tuner is set to the right setting as it has modes for different instruments like violin and ukelele and if it's set wrong you'll definitely have difficulties using it to tune your guitar, but when it's set correctly it works well). The little BATTERY POWERED! amp does not provide a lot of volume, but for a piece of practice gear that's perfect, and it does give really amazing tone and overdrive for it's size. The strap it comes with is pretty much junk quality, but that's fine with me as I instantly replaced it anyway, Again in comparison to a Squier, the carry bag is actually a fair bit better with a little more padding so no complaints there. Aside from the minor woodwork blemishes, the only other complaint I do have about this guitar is that they don't do an amazing job of packaging it for shipping, it came in a cardboard box inside the carry bag with a very sparse amount of foam around it, not enough to really protect it, so they're leaving a lot more up to chance with shipping compared to the Squier which as memory serves was very well packed for shipping. The gig bag is padded, but it's not THAT padded, I feel lucky mine arrived without damage. Tuning pegs felt a little slippy at first, could maybe have been strings hanging up on the nut, but with a bit of use seems to have gone away. Some of the metal work on the bridge is also a bit less polished than I would ideally want, but you've got to be inspecting things pretty closely to notice, and at this budget price ($150), the fact that everything works, and works quiet well - is more than I really hoped for. Probably also needs a good cleaning when you first get it, at least mine did, as it had a bit of leftover polish or something along some of the frets I guess from when they did the fret board.
