I purchased this guitar for my 11 year old grandson who is just starting out his guitar journey. The guitar arrived packed in a cardboard box and inside was the gig bag with the guitar inside of the bag well protected. The bag is nice and all of the extras were included. The guitar was in perfect condition with no nicks or scratches. Setting it next to my Squier Affinity the same color it was difficult to tell them apart. Very pleased with the look and the finish of the guitar. The frets were perfectly acceptable and playable. The pickups, strings and tuners were obviously lower quality parts compared to my Squier. I will change to better strings in the future. The guitar was pretty well setup when I received it so after just a bit of tuning it was ready to play. The tone is not as rich as my Squier but I would expect that. Overall the guitar was easy to play, it sounded just fine for a beginners guitar and it looks great. I think this would be a great guitar for anyone just starting out and they should be happy with it for years. If you are looking for Fender quality for a $100.00 price you will probably be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this guitar & I have an American Strat!

Excellent for the money & sounds great with new strings and needs little to no adjustments on mine.I named him Blackrusty since I took her to the beach and she got rusty. Has her own character sound compared to the American Strat,.she can sound bright or dark depending on the amp or simulation. But she’s getting darker because of the natural rust she’s developed at the beach. A favorite to play and will probably get a midi pick up later but maybe not! With today’s technology you often win if you shop five star guitar quality. It’s a golden age for buying Intruments people. Take advantage while you can.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner guitar

This is a well made and very playable guitar. You can alter the action as needed. I like to keep mine very low. Frets are not too sharp, and the wood work was done well. It will hold its tune very well and does not warp. I got mine in black and it looks every bit as good as a higher end guitar.

The design is typical strat clone. You get five pickup/tone configurations, a whammy bar, a tone and volume knob. All these controls work as expected.

As typical for budget guitars, the tone delivery isn’t great out of the box. It sounds tinny and faint unless it’s EQ’d just right, although sustain is decent. I suppose since this is a basic clone model it can probably be customized with strat parts, but I would have rather paid a slightly higher price and gotten more value. Nevertheless, I can still use this for home recordings. There’s very few flaws in its sound that a little mixing magic can’t work out. For live music, though, I would have to use a Squier at least for tone delivery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful guitar and case.

Got this guitar to try my hand at modifying an inexpensive guitar before before working on my other guitars. Turns out the guitar played quite well after unboxing and tuning it. I was expecting to work on the frets, but for my level of guitar experience, i could not find any problems. Frets ends were nicely finished, just polished them to make them less scratchy when bending strings.

Nonetheless, my goal was to make a few mods so I proceeded to improve the bridge/tremolo to one that had a more substantial block, changed the plastic nut to a bone nut and changed the string to 11's. I must admit that just these upgrades made a significant improvement on the sound and the sustain seems to last forever. Although I had planned to update the pickups, but for my level of playing, I don't see a need to upgrade them at this time.

As far as aesthetics, the finish on the guitar body is impeccable and exactly as what was advertised. The only fault I found was that the neck has a small wood grain knot, that one could feel a small tiny hole if you run a finger over it. Of my 8 guitars this the first time I've found this type of imperfection, so I'm not sure if it's something of concern. I did make some tension adjustments to the neck and so far encounterd no problems, so maybe it will be ok, and I'm hoping it will be because I really like this guitar.

Nonetheless, for a $100 guitar, I love it just as much as my other guitars. Also, of the few guitars I have purchased that come with a gig bag, this guitar came with the best gig bag. In fact it's nicer than some of the gig bags that I've purchased for my other guitars, I just wish the bag was sold separately so I can purchase for couple a my other guitars. I feel this is a great guitar and would recommend it as a first or backup guitar.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting much when I saw the box it came it. The box was totally trashed and I was scared to open it. Luckily the guitar wasn’t majorly damaged. My guitar has some cosmetic scratches at the bottom but nothing too off putting. The only thing that gets me is the massive booty hole mark on the front of my guitar. Its a Decent guitar. Plays well, needs to be tuned out of box and holds tone pretty well after the first few plays. Great for a starter guitar. Some minor dents on the back of the neck but nothing to write home about. I haven’t plugged it up to amp yet but will update when I do.
