I was honestly very impressed (nearly floored) when I opened it up and saw this thing. It's a beautiful banjo and appears to be extremely well-made. It was not anywhere near in tune, but that was sort of expected. The accessories are OK, but I immediately got new finger picks and used my Snark tuner instead of what was included. The soft case isn't even all that bad...not sure how well the zippers will hold up, but it was much thicker than lightly padded.
Now, I am a beginner and none of this made me play better, or at all, for that matter. I can only say that I'm very happy this is what I spent money on to learn with!
One year update:
Used it a bit and still very much a beginner! Banjo has had one string replaced since but it still sounds great! It does take tuning pretty much every time I use it, but that is practice in itself. Still very happy!
