Anything CD by this guy is incredible! He is definitely anointed by God musically and as a lyric writer. His lyrics are seriously deep and will touch your heart, no matter what you are going through or where you've been in life. I can listen for hours and be uplifted and want to dance!

This is deffinetly a Extreme Makeover- CD Edition. ;) It's a great TobyMac CD and if you liked anything you've heard from TobyMac or DC Talk before, you'll be sure to enjoy this CD. I would write more, but other reviewers have explained it pretty well already. :)

When it became known that tobyMac was releasing his second remix cd, many fans were excited and some skepitcal. Well if your one of the skeptics, dont be..this cd is a true treat a must have for any dc Talk/tobyMac fan out there. While its not as wonderful as the already classic "Welcome To Diverse City", this cd definitely belongs in every CCM, dc Talk, and tobyMac fan's collection...

1.Getaway Car - Must more loud than the original, this song defintely makes you want to bump it LOUD and hit the gas pedal!

    2. The Slam - What a change. Its actually driven by a piano but its soo moody, one can actually feel Toby's emotions as he spits the lyrics.

3.Diverse City - Easily my favorite beat..it'll get stuck in your head for days!

    4. Burn For You - The first single - this one rocks harder and louder! I do miss the rap though:( Still, its a really great remix

    5. Hey Now - A jazz version in the tradition of Tribe Called Quest. Shon Lock's guest rap is a welcomed addition. Also appearing briefly is Toby's son Tru Dog

    6. Phenomenon -A faster beat, more laxed version. Almost has a video game sound..it def. works better than one would think.

    7. Gone - My least favorite remix. its still good but not nearly as fun..more depressing. Another song where you can actually feel Toby's emotions so right there, it saves this song.

    8. Intruding Again - The best rap by Tru Dog yet and made even more special by some old school dc Talk samples

    9. Catchafire (Whoopsie Daisy) - My favorite track from WTDC, much more club feel and it works. Papa San's guest vocals are even better when remixed!

    10. ILL M I - More eery..but it works..so much so that I like it better than the WTDC version!

    11. Atmosphere - Nice Latino feel. Great guest vocals by new Gotee Records artist, Liquid

    12. Burn For You (Math Remix) - Defintely interesting and a bit too long. But you gotta respect and love Math's creativity!

Again, T-Mac and crew dont dissapoint...all citizens of Diverse City - go buy this cd NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first heard Diverse City I picked out a few songs that I could really relate to. I found some that became my favorites. I received "Renovating Diverse City" as a gift from my best friend today. I haven't been able to stop and take it off repeat. I can honestly say that I love every song on the album. My favorite has to be "Catchafire"(White Rabbit Mix). The song in itself is a real treat! Everything about that song is just perfectly mixed together. It's one of those songs that you keep on repeat and say to your self "Okay once more" and by the end of the day you've listened to it well over 50 times. "The Slam" (D Dubb Remix), is another song I can call my favorite. It has an eerie piano line that makes it sound totally different from it's former heavy metal feel. "Phenomenon" (Blanco E Chegro Mix), they did a really awesome job remixing this one, it has a lot of different genre's mixed in, including a Latin American feel which I think makes the whole song really unique and fun. "Atmosphere" (Abmiente Mix), is another song that has a Latin American feel with a R&B touch. The chorus is spoken in spanish which I thought was a nice little addition to the song. Overall, throughout "Renovating Diverse City", you can really tell how Toby is growing in his music. It's far from repetitious and you never really know what you may hear next. It's well worth the 10 bucks. If you're not into one song, I'm sure you will be into the next, there's something for everyone in each song. This album really lives up to its title. You're going to find diversity in each song. Thanks for reading my review, I hope that I helped you in your decision! :o)
