I bought this bass just a couple of weeks after purchasing a Squier Classic Vibe 60’s Precision Bass. This cheap bass, $79 at the time, felt so much better and was surprisingly setup fairly decent. The only thing I did was tighten the truss rod slightly to straighten the neck and lower the action a little. The pickups are a little weak but have a great tone to them and just need a little volume boost. The tuners feel much thinner than the Squier but actually hold tune really well! I played for a few hours and never had to tune. There are cheap elements to this bass of course but it’s a great beginner or intermediate bass. It’s also lightweight and very comfortable to play. The neck is the big selling point for me. It’s a precision bass neck but not as thick as the standard fender or Squier neck. I think it’s the same width but just easier to wrap your feet hand around. The back of the neck is also smooth and your hand won’t stick when moving. I’m going to be upgrading the pickups, bridge and strings to make it exactly the way I want it. To be honest though, the only real upgrade that’s needed would be pickups to gain more volume. The factory strings aren’t bad either but not as good as aftermarket brands. I’d definitely recommend purchasing one of these for any beginner player or even as a backup for the gigging bass player.
