5.0 out of 5 stars Better grip and feel

I tend to lose my grip on my pick once in a while, and tried these to overcome that. They work in that regard. The .088 thickness is ideal for me as well. Very sturdy as well compared to standard picks.

5.0 out of 5 stars I prefer these - here's why:

I've played electric guitar over 35 years, and I'm a gigging guitarist in a band. I've used many types of picks over this time, but I've settled on these and here is why:
1. They don't break. I've never had one break on me - but I've certainly broken other types of picks. The nylon material used on these is very tough.
2. They have molded in texture, this keeps the pick from slipping - either moving in your grip, or worse, dropping it. I don't think I've ever dropped one of these, but I know I've dropped other types. I always keep a spare pick handy in case I drop my pick - but I've never used the backup with these picks. This is the most important attribute of these picks for me.
3. They print the thickness of the pick. So if you have several thicknesses, you can definitively tell which thickness you like - and avoid buying the wrong thickness. I think they are color coded too - but I would rely on the printed thickness. It does not wear off, by the way
4. Price is good.
It is true some have some flash around the edges, it varies lot to lot. I don't find this a problem. The strings will rub this off tip in no time. If the rest bothers you, it can be quickly removed with a bit of sandpaper, or rubbing it against a wound string, or even on your jeans. I have not found the flash to be a significant issue, however.
These dunlop picks have been my choice for over ten years now, and I won't go back to a smooth surface pick - they just don't provide the grip I need.
Ordering more today. (I do still lose them, however! No fix for that yet.) As for which thickness - that's a personal preference, and will vary based on guitar, strings, and style of play. These (.73mm) are slightly more flexible than most mediums, but are stiffer than most "thin" picks for certain.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've always hated picks...
Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2020
I've been playing guitar since 1964, mostly not very well. Self-taught. And I'm a "strummer," strictly a rhythm guy. I learned on an old classic with nylon strings (new from Montgomery Wards!), and just always used my fingers. Sadly, I've never been coordinated enough to actually finger pick, but I have a good sense of rhythm, so I can add some interest with counter strumming and beats, and attacking this or that part of the strings based on whatever chord I'm futzing with. Bottom line, every time I tried using an ordinary guitar pick, I absolutely HATED it. It was like trying to play with some ... variation in intensity ... with a small log.

And then a couple of years ago, I grabbed a couple of softer picks out of a bowl while I was buying some strings, and... I loved them! A had about six, and was on my last one when I ordered these, and was so glad to see them available. What do I like about them? Well, they are FLEXIBLE, so you can sort of alter how you use it to get a softer or more intense sound (Seagull 6-string). I just hold it closer to the tip to reduce the flex. They are very easy on the strings, and if you use light strings, they tend to rattle a whole lot less with this pick, IMO.

The bad news is that if you use them to hammer out a song, the tips tend to break off after some use. If you do that a lot, step up to the next thickness, and just use this pick for ballads. Also, they will have a slight flapping sound when used for softer passages. I don't care about that when I'm practicing for myself, but, again, you can just hold this pick a little differently, and make it just a bit stiffer. That fixes it.

I also use the F-brand thinnest pick, and it's great choice for those rock-a-billy sessions! No chipping and no flapping, but somewhat harder on the strings.

5.0 out of 5 stars My go-to pick

I've been using the Dunlop .88 nylon picks for nearly 16 years. I've tried different thicknesses of the nylons, I've tried plastic pics - but the .88s are my favorite. From acoustic strumming to electric lead, these picks help me do everything I need to do on guitar. Great pick! 10/10.

4.0 out of 5 stars The first picks I bought.

I find that after even just an hour or so of playing that they get flimsy. Still they're decent picks and they have a nice grip to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Ultra Thin Pick
Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2024
I love these picks. These are a bit thinner than a standard thin pick. They bring out a really nice clarity and sound great on twelve string guitars as well as six. They have a nice flex to them as well. A great pick for strumming and bringing out the higher end of a guitar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to hold

I love the texture of these pics. They’re easy to hold and they don’t slide around when I’m picking and strumming. Perfect.

These are the best overall pick on the market and have been for years. I like using the .60 and .73. Those are my go to's.
