Hey Now, 525!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good learning guitar

My preteen son has developed an affinity for music and the guitar is what he wants to play. The music shop where he takes lessons offered us a guitar for nearly $300. That seemed extremely expensive for a kid just starting out and for a parent who is concerned this might be a fad and doesn't want to make that significant an investment. So, did some homework and looked for a reasonably priced model that was the right size and came across this model. It's not the cheapest, but was the right combination of price and quality (based on previous reviews). So far so good. My son likes it and the lessons continue. Feel confident if you are looking to purchase this six string.

I was a bit nervous the guitar would show up broken when opening the box but was relieved to see it was in great shape especially when it was a birthday gift for my child . a few small flows in the plant but not noticible great guitar for strings beginner players we haven't tested on tuning the guitar yet but it seems to play pretty good and held up great on its first test run playing so hopefully won't have no problems when time to time it in right on sound all in all its a great guitar in looks playing and size my kid loves it update the guitar seems to not be tunable tried 4 times to get it in tune the guitar doesn't sound the greatest and every time we tighten the strings u can hear the pins crackling and popping it's nerve racking being on edge trying to tune it and not know if something going to snack on it so debating on what to do with it still seems like a good looking guitar but actually getting into playing it not so great so far on playing part the casting bag doesn't fit this guitar way to small and the tuner does not work right

4.0 out of 5 stars Great price for beginners

My son has had no issues with the guitar itself. Loves it! Storage bag was way to small for the guitar. Strings are very cheap/replaced with better ones. Great for beginners for the price.

I got this to keep in my work truck, I don’t care if it gets scratched or dented, just wanted a cheap guitar to practice with. The factory strings are cheap and do not sound good, so change the strings as soon as you can and it will sound a lot better. If you are new to the guitar, give the strings time to stretch as they will go out of tune in the first few days very often. Overall, not a bad guitar for the money.

I'm a beginner. Decided one day I was going to learn, and bought this. I've been practicing everyday for a month. It came with extra strings, 3 picks, a strap, case, electronic tuner and starter information. The picks are a medium thickness. The strap is adequate. The " case" is a cheap bag but I'm buying the guitar.
Definitely a great starter.

I have another Ashthorpe guitar that l bought in 2022 that was perfect in every way right out of the box but it was a little more expensive than this one. I was expecting the same with this one but the first thing I noticed was the sloppy workmanship on the binding on the cutaway. There are swirl marks in the wood from the orbital sander that was used to sand this guitar and the clear finish has orange peel. The action (string height) was very high which made playing it extremely difficult. I filed down the bridge saddle as much as l could and adjusted the truss rod. It is now in playable condition. There is only about a sixteenth of an inch of the saddle sticking up out of the bridge so l couldn't file it down anymore. Once the guitar was in playable condition it plays well and sounds pretty good. Unless you know how to do your own set up work I wouldn't recommend this guitar for a beginner. A guitar tech typically charges $75 for a set up and that's more than the cost of this guitar. It came with an extra set of strings, picks, a tuner, a very thin gig bag, an allen key to adjust the truss rod and a cheap strap. It also came with a nice chart of Barre Chords. lt didn't come with a pickguard so l added a decorative one that dresses it up a little bit. Overall it's a pretty good bang for your buck if you can do your own set up work. Don't expect perfection on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Now I’m disgusted
Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2024
I almost sent it back as I had to tune it about 20 times before it held. The strings it comes with are not so great and quite hard to play, but after an hour of breaking it in, I started to like it. I wouldn’t recommend for a child or beginner as it’s not easy to play and may discourage them. I’m keeping it
because it’s pretty and I know how to manipulate it to get a decent sound out. You basically have to man handle it.

Update: After a month, this thing still won’t hold a tune, I should have returned it a long time ago. Don’t buy this piece of garbage. Now I will probably burn it when we have a Bon fire now that I can no longer return it. Return window is 30 days. I put it back in the box and placed it in the closet as I can no longer stand the sight of this frustrating piece of trash.
