    Your dad's fat old MIDI cables DIN style. These work great. Tough, fairly flexible plastic jacket. I have a number of HOSA DIN MIDI cables and I haven't seen any wear over a few years.

    When I opened the tightly wadded up cables, they were stiff at first, tie one end of the cable to a door knob and give the whole thing a good stretch, without pulling the door knob off. I used a heat gun on it and it will always have kinks, but the cables I have had for 30 years made by the same HOSA are still being used today.

    It's a midi cable, it's 10ft long, it was relatively inexpensive and it worked out of the package, which was in good shape and easy to open. Can't expect too much more.

    Good quality cable. It's wired straight-through, as in each pin matches each pin on both sides. A true male-to-male patch cable.

    The wire quality and connector quality are both great. I bought this to use for a custom cable assembly for ham radio, and I can verify it's shielded on the inside. The connector fits snug and secure!

    I purchased this cable so that I could hook my Roland TD3 electric drumset up to the Guitar Hero World Tour drum kit and play the game with my Roland. Plugged everything in, started up the game and it all worked great.

    I don't really know what to write for a review on a cable that works other than it works and I'm happy with the quality.
