So I bought a BEAUTIFUL set of crystal bowls. Some have rougher edges than the others so I have a variety of bowls. I bought "Crystal Singing Bowl Resonant Rod/Mallet - Silicone Coated Glass - Pure, Clear Tone for Meditation, ASMR, Yoga or Sound Baths, 2-YEAR WARRANTY" first for $28. It's a great mallet. I wanted a second and decided to get this one cause I wasn't sure which one to go with originally. This one is cheaper and plays even better. It reduces the dragging noise significantly. The other one is good too, but has more of a dragging noise than this one. It plays the bowls a lot smoother and it's easier to keep this one from vibrating off the bowl than the rest. I'm not a fan of the suede mallets, LOTS of dragging noise. I also have a round silicone one with a wood handle... I always end up dragging the wood on the bowl or it makes a squeak noise on the side, so I don't like that one much either.

The control you get over the tone, pitch and resonance is incredible. If you are using on glass or crystal bowls, you don't have to worry about skidding or thumping like you do with standard rubber tipped mallets. They don't have the scrape sound the suede strikers do, either. Love them. Get two!

Good addition to my mallets. I prefer the rubber for the crystal bowls I have. These allow me to have less of the occasional scraping I accidentally do with the mallets. Move smoothly around the bowl.

I actually like this mallet. However I order pink and expected it to be pink. It is actually clear.
The sound is great with the singing bowls. Requires very little pressure.

Exactly as described! This was an experiment for me because I wanted to see if I could get better sound out of my traveling bowl set by trying a different mallet than the wooden ones it came with. Using these mallets, I can strike with the silicone coated end and run the hard acrylic side around the bowls to produce different sounds. Using the acrylic side to circle around on my metal bowls produces a sound that is far superior to any wood mallet or rubber mallet I have tried. I will say that if you want to use this on metal bowls and primarily want them for striking they produce a slightly more muted sound but a clearer tone than you would get with a suede covered wooden mallet. Perhaps because these are heavier than wooden mallets. I am supremely happy my experiment paid off and plan to use these almost exclusively for my metal bowls.

 If you’ve used other singing bowl mallets before, you know that there can sometimes be some drag an unwanted sound when making the bowl sing. This mallet is silky smooth and goes around the bowl nicely without any drag or excessive noise. I will be buying more of these acrylic and rubber Mallets. Run, don’t walk and get you some of these.
