5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice guitar for a great price.

I am just learning how to play guitar and thought this would be a good start. It is a beautiful guitar. Super nice finish. I cannot find any issues with the finish. The action is excellent and the sound is good. Once the strings were stretched, it stays in tune for days if not touched and when it goes out of tune it is only by a very small amount. The amp it comes with works but is really not needed since this is an acoustic/electric but it is nice to have. The narrow body is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good 6 string acoustic guitar.

Donner provides a very good beginner guitar with included accessories. It has a 10 W amp and you can play it as an acoustic or with electric speaker. Quality was better than expected and after tuning up played quite well. Although it's a slimline, it sounds full bodied. I liked the bright green color and finish, but beware that the guitar I received was much darker than the picture represents. It's ok because I like the black guitar look anyways. If you're not a logo name snob, then this guitar for the money can't be beat IMHO.

4.0 out of 5 stars Acoustic Guitarists - Grab this Guitar (with effects) - You are in for a Treat.
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2022
I have played the guitar for decades, and owned a dozen or so guitars all over the price-range. I say this without hesitation - this is the most fun guitar I have ever had. The guitar features a simple innovation - effects inside the box via a small inbuilt amp and speaker, which results in an amazing, rich range of sounds in this 3/4 sized midget. And the fun part - you don't have to plug the guitar to an amp to enjoy the effects or be tethered to a speaker to enjoy the effects. Without these built-in effects, this is an ordinary low cost & quality guitar that does not merit a second look and with unremarkable raw sound. The stand-alone effects transform it to punch much higher than its price-range. On a welcome positive note, the action is low (much better than my Yamaha guitar - my fingers thank you). The raw sound without effects tends to be more on the metallic side - better gauge strings might improve the sound quality. There are a couple of annoying items that merit deducting a star: (1) the fret edges are angled sharply, and can cut your fingers if you are not careful as you slide along the fretboard. (2) I may have got a lemon - the lower E string does not stay in tune. I am hoping it will settle in, but this is not a good sign: I will return this if the tuning does not stay in place after a week of playing. The preamp is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, which can reportedly last more than 6 hours of playing time. Several generous extras came in this package: a soft gig bag, spare strings, capo, plectrums, strap, tuner, and a cable to charge the internal battery via USB. A small folded paper explains how to operate the unit - long press power for a few seconds to turn it on. There are 3 knobs (and an additional nested knob) that control the effects. I picked this up on a whim during Amazon's Black Friday deals, and the advertised price is well worth it. If you love playing the acoustic guitar, you will enjoy this guitar - grab it before it sells out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sounds good.

This guitar actually surprised me a bit. I shouldn't have based on the price, but I was expecting it to be a bit lower quality. It is a mass produced guitar. Given that, it tunes properly, stays tuned, intonation isn't bad, no buzz, and doesn't sound bad. The frets definitely need work. They are a bit sharp where they were cut along the edge of the fretboard. The rest of the set was mediocre. If you are buying this for the amp, don't. The gig bag is okay. It comes with some other accessories which are fine. The tuner is accurate, but glitches out occasionally. It also comes with an extra set of strings and a pick guard and a few picks. If I had it to do again, I would have bought a higher quality guitar in the same price range without the amplifier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Product

Overall this is an amazing product, well worth every dime!! The packaging was clean and careful and shipped quickly. All the parts were cleanly wrapped. The separate parts such as the capo and tuner are cheap but sturdy products. The guitar came pre-stringed and only needed a tuneup. And The pick guard needed to be installed (but no problem). The electronics are clean, fancy and work beautiful. The Cary bag and strap are both heafty and we'll made.

This was a very inexpensive guitar and amplifier combo. But you get what you pay for. The tuning would be lost in about 10 mins. The amplifier quality is flimsy at best. I would recommend visiting a guitar store nearby and pick up one that sounds the best, stays tuned for long and fits your budget.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very cool, but has some problems
Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2022
I would really rather not give this instrument a poor review, because it's a really cool little guitar, but there are some issues.

When it arrived it buzzed pretty bad. No big deal, I just adjusted the rod, problem solved. The frets were really rough on the ends where they had been cut. So much so, that I began to get a callus on my pointer finger from rubbing it against them as I moved my hand up and down the neck. They clearly didn't file the edges down at all. So I filled them, no big deal, problem solved.

Then, about 2 months after I got it, I was tuning and the tuning peg for the D string suddenly stopped functioning. It spins freely and does not tighten or loosen the string. I've contacted Donner support and we'll see what they do about it. Hoping they just send me a new one. This is a bit of a hassle. (Update: they give me a $60 refund. I was able to fix the problem for $15. So I'm very satisfied with the way it worked out.)

A couple of other minor things I dislike. The knob at the bottom where it plugs in unscrews very easily, then it rattles. It took me a while to realize where that weird noise was coming from. Also, when you have it plugged in, the b string is much louder than the others. It's kind of annoying.

It's not all bad. The guitar has a great look. I love the shape, it's very comfortable. It's extremely light. And the sound is good enough.

If the peg had broken sooner, I would have just sent it back. But it broke like a week after the return window ended. If I could go back to when I was shopping, I would problem choose differently. But I'm not too bummed out about it. It's still a very cool little guitar. Just not as awesome as I was expecting.
