5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased

My guitar arrived in great condition, no shipping damage. Packed very well. The finish is flawless. I literally cannot find a blemish. The action is nice and low and the frets seem level and no fret buzz. Hard to believe it seems to be set up well from the factory. Ironically this is my second mail order guitar that was set up well. Maybe it's just luck. Weather was warm, so I didn't really have to let it acclimate much. Took my time slowly tuning up, as I didn't want to put too much tension on the neck too quickly. Factory strings shipped quite loose. I'm sure these strings are crap, but I will leave them on for a bit until I get the guitar "broke in" and then put some quality strings on her. Pickups are clear, and nice tone. Not very hot pups, but I didn't expect that on a guitar at this price point, but they're surprisingly decent. Tone and volume knobs function as designed. Some of these models came with Grover locking tuners, this one did NOT. Once the strings stretch in and the neck settles, I'll have a better idea of tuning stability. The obvious items worth upgrading would probably be the tuners and the nut. Other than that, very pleased. Stunning beautiful instrument. Helluva guitar for the price point. ($189).

When I ordered this guitar I thought it’s cheap, probably arrive damages or broken.
I carefully unboxed the guitar that was in a protective bag and styrofoam cut out for shipping.
Everything was fine upon opening.
After a quick tune I plug it in, H.O.L.Y S.H.I.T. I couldn’t believe it had true Humbucker sound!
At most it just needs a set up and #9’s for me. It comes with 10’s.
The finish is flawless. I thought a flag guitar would be cool, but for $180 I didn’t expect much. Absolutely has no cosmetic flaws. Beautiful.
The fretboard a frets are done well and the tuner keys are authentic “Grovers”, card on the string and all.
The headstock and neck are damn near spot on and the nut really is bone! The frets ends are beveled and super hard Blackwood fretboard with set in neck. All mahogany.

The pot are smooth with speed hats. The pick up selector switch seems light. Everything is installed and secured properly.
The action was high, but again, that’s part of the set up.

I’m taking it to Kyle at GC Tempe, Az. to set it up, change the strings, lower the action and check intonation. It also comes with a patch cord.

All in all I’m impressed at almost every level of this guitar. For $179 what do you expect? Especially since I’ve been playing 50 years and played many fine fiddles and own a real LP, SG etc. myself.

I’m now going to put some black P-90 pick ups in it with the set up. (Going for the 50’s sound)

Incredible performance for $180.

I’m sure I’ll be playing this one for a while.

Strongly recommended

UPDATE: 10.29.23. Last pic is most current. I had Kyle GC Tempe, AZ install neck/bridge P-90 humbucker sized pick ups and set it up.
This guitar sounded good right out of the box, and I was hoping for the Les Paul 1953 sound. Well…
This is insane, Kyle set it up, intonation, etc and the pick ups. I can honestly say it’s so close, it’s not a Gibson LP, but I can only tell the difference in Leo Jaymes and Gibson is Leo’s P-90’s are nuts. (I’ll save the P-90 sound dissertation) so yah… best sounding Paul in the bunch for $179 guitar, set up $100, $40 pick ups.
And BTY, it’s a “synthetic” nut, self lubing and harder than bone and the sustain and resonance can’t be overstated.
Leo’s LP is my cheapest LP, yet now it’s close to my favorite. Definitely the most versatile. Incredible quality.
Not one person’s walked by this LP and not said “oh, cool”. It is. Sounds better and the flag speaks for itself.
Strongly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars There is no Reason to Buy an Epiphone Now

For the price, this is the best deal for a LP style guitar on the internet. Rather than paying $400+ for a *used* Epiphone, you could drop half that and get something comparable if not better imo.

Pros:
- Flawless finish
- Real mahogany wood and solid construction
- Works well with minimal setup
- Hardware is serviceable
- Pickups sound detailed and full
- Fantastic deal for the quality of instrument you get for only $200~

Cons:
- Flag looks dimmer and lower res than the image featured. Not a deal breaker but worth noting
- Frets were scratchy out of the box
- Fret board was dirty out of the box
- Nut is cheap plastic and had fraying out of the box
- Pickups are very harmonic

Overall:
This is a great instrument for the price and is an incredible modding platform if you want to upgrade the hardware and the pickups. After spending an hour or two getting it ready sanding the frets, cleaning and oiling the fret board, filing and lubricating the nut, swapping to some quality strings and setting the action and intonating it, I don't have much to complain about. It does unfortunately need some work out of the box and a decent setup to get it playing as good as it can be but if you're willing to put in maybe an afternoon's amount of work at most, you will get an honest to goodness LP for $200 out the door. You cannot go wrong.
