5.0 out of 5 stars Good for elementary band

Been renting for 2 years now, roughly $40 a month, was really nervous about the sound not good enough but my daughter tried it and think it sounds fine for beginners. Build quality seems solid, button is staying on and easy to play, the stand was quite useless tho, but we love the case that came with a strap as well and plenty accessories for cleaning. Wish I had done this 2 years ago.

This clarinet ended up being much better than I expected for the price. The sound out of the box with the included reed is rich and full. The matte finish makes the clarinet feel high quality. The inclusion of cork grease, cleaning cloth, and a stand is a nice touch.

Out of the box I did have two keys that were loose and not pressing down. Thankfully it was simple to fix with a tiny flathead screwdriver you would use for glasses. The other issue I’ve had is that the included mouth piece is fairly “open” meaning I’ve only been able to get sounds out of reed strengths 2 and below. Anything stronger and I get an airy unusable sound.

Overall I think this is a great clarinet for anyone just learning or taking a band class and is looking to save money and get everything all in one.

Ok so this isn't the best clarinet. Fitment is tight, but it's brand new so you'd expect that. The included reed clamp is wonky but works. But what do you expect for $120? The way I see it, it's about break even over a year on a rental, so maybe it's used for a couple years before we figure out if our kid really wants to stick with the clarinet and maybe then we upgrade to a higher quality unit.

Alot of people will say to buy an expensive student clarinet $600, but this one does just fine. Ive been trying to learn clarinet and play for about 2 hours everyday, no problems have came up. Clarinet is very sturdy and does a great job. I would defiantly suggest to invest in a better mouth piece and good reeds. Be happy save money, This clarinet is worth it. Trust me, you do not need an expensive clarinet.

update clarinet is in excelent condition still playing everyday and its work like new. Update i have purchased a new ligature called Versa and also a rico mouthpiece, and im using v12 reeds. and I can only say this clarinet is in par with any other name brand trust me.

Update 8/2/2021
I purchased a Yamaha clarinet, I Use a beechler jazz mouthpiece, and I can now tell the difference in sound quality of this clarinet. Yamaha clarinet is alot easier to play, alot brighter, alot louder. Im not saying the Eastrock clarinet is bad. I would still definitely recommend it for a beginner. We don't all have hundreds of dollars to spend on a clarinet. For the money the east rock is decent

The Clarinet sounds good. It would be a good beginner clarinet. The mouth piece I received there’s a chip on the very tip of it. The ligature doesn’t hold the reed still very well. Other than the mouth piece the rest of the clarinet looks very well made.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sounded and worked great until it broke.

Got this clarinet for my daught so she could use for school and so we could play together and I would give her private lessons. I have a VITO clarinet over 20 years old that is still going strong but this clarinet broke half way through my daughter's school year. It split in the middle with the cork section being stuck in the bottom half of the clarinet. I tried to fix it but it managed to split again. This was extremely inconvenient as I was not able to play along side her to better help her with her music. So extreme caution when purchasing because it looks nice but the quality is iffy. Not sure if we were just sent a defective one.
