5.0 out of 5 stars This violin is perfectly fine for beginners looking for a starter.

I played violin through 2 years of middle school and all four years of highschool. I stopped for many years and found this violin as one to pick things back up with. I came to write this review because I wanted to express this violin is perfectly fine for parents looking to get their kids into a string instrument. Its perfectly fine for someone who is coming back but doesn't want to break the bank. Some parents in the reviews have been given a hard time by their kid's instructors because of the make. I say in all seriousness, many violin instructors are snobby, it just comes with the territory. If you are looking for quality violin to start that's for a good price, look no further. I would say as you progress, if you would like better quality strings and bow, go for it, but that is not to say that this make is terribly quality; it's alright. I also read in the reviews that it feels cheap, but I disagree. Violins are light weighted instruments. If you're looking for "$1k carved from Yggdrasil and a bow made from the hair of Galadriel" quality this isnt for you. Happy Playing!

I play instruments. I play the cello, I know acoustic bass, and I play the piano a little and I wanted to learn the violin. I wanted a violin that I could learn off of and wasn’t too expensive and I found this kit and I really like it. The violin isn’t the best but if you are just starting out it is a good price for what you are receiving. It came with everything it promised and it is a good setup for a beginner. The bridge most likely will not be set whenever you get the package but that was easy enough to fix. The tuning wasn’t too bad. However, the instrument does seem to get just slightly out of tune when I take it back out of the case. The bow is not great, I would recommend a better one but this is ok if you just want to learn the violin. The shoulder rest was the one thing I had a problem with. It is definitely not the a high quality one and I struggled with it to find out where it would stay in, but it is usable. It came with everything it promised (the extra strings, rosin, and even an extra bridge are in a pocket on the inside of the case) and the tuner even came with its own battery. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is just starting but also recommend you buy finger tapes and another shoulder rest if you prefer.

I have always wanted to learn to play the violin, so I finally decided to get this one based on research "best violin for beginners" and plan to teach myself. All the searches I came across said this was the top violin for beginners. For the price, the quality is great, you get presumably everything you need for full basic setup and it comes strung already. Bow is not resined, so if you have never played, let alone seen, a violin before, then you can watch some YouTube videos on how to properly resin the bow, like I did (you won't be able to get sound without doing that, which I never knew before!) Be careful of strings, they will break easily, especially the E string. I was attempting to tune it for the first time and I barely moved the peg, and mine snapped, so it was fantastic that they had an extra string included! I decided to take up my Pastor's offer to tune it for me so I knew it would be in the best hands possible and I could practice tuning at a later time (I had watched YouTube videos that taught how to tune, but I was having difficulty getting it just right when it snapped). Also, as I was attempting to tune, the other strings were a little easier to tune, but the pegs kept slipping, so every time I would get the strings tuned, they seemed to slip and loosen and I'd lose the correct sound. Loved that it came with a tuner, and that the tuner came with a battery! The sound quality is really good for a cheapy beginner violin once it is tuned. The accessories that cone with the violin help to get you up and going right out of the package. The only accessory that is not included that is suggested for learning to play, is the fingerboard cheat that shows you where all the notes are. I am ordering one to better help me learn finger placement for correct notes since I am teaching myself. Case is not HARD, but definitely not soft, and is sturdy. Again, seems like a great little violin for someone starting out, and has pretty much all the necessary accessories for beginners. I got the Satin antique, and it is pretty! Can't wait to start learning and playing! I will try to update later when I get my violin back and begin actually learning to play and can review more from experience.

I bought this during the Pandemic, But for some reason didn't post a review. But I remember everything about this violin. It was so bad, I returned it the next day.
1st issue is how light and cheap it felt. It honestly felt like something from a dollar store. It was my first and only one, but I don't think a violin should've felt that light.
2nd issue was the craftsmanship. Again it felt cheap. The tuning pegs were so poorly crafted it was IMPOSSIBLE to tune. They held no tension, and felt like they were sanded smooth so no friction was there. I would've tried to attach one string only for another string to unravel and come out. Not tension, attach. It came with 3 of the strings unattached. Sat there for about 2 hours trying to attach the strings before I gave up.
3rd issue would be trying to play the thing. Even if I could get all the strings attached, the tuning pegs would've unraveled the strings the moment I put the bow down. I don't think how this would've even played due to them being so bad.
