I was totally not satisfied with the sound quality. I ask for a refund after returning the bass. They told me there was a 20% fee $80.00to return it. Even though I purchased thru Amazon it was a third party sale. Not knowing this at time of sale. I cannot take an $80.00 loss so I still have it. Very disappointed.

The only down side I see to this base is that the battery uses a typical dual wire snap connection instead of a couple of bar contacts. You know that some day you'll need to repair it, at least in my experience. Other than that, this thing is a beautiful beast. The fit and finish are good and the 5 piece neck is smooth. The frets are finished and level. The nut is well fit with the strings. The only issue I had is a buzz on the B string. Using a thick pick ( 1 mm) as a gauge, I found that it was a tight fit around the fifth to seventh frets, so I chose to raise the action of B0 rather than adjust the truss rod. I tuned and stretched the strings and checked the tonality. The B string was slightly sharp so I tweaked it to bring it in. The knobs are NOT your typical two volume and two tone knobs. You have one volume knob, one balance knob to adjust between the two pickups, and three EQ knobs to adjust low, mid, and high EQ. The EQ knobs have a mid-point indent you can feel, which makes leveling and finding previous adjustment easier. There is a switch that controls the pickups, which have two banks of coils each. This switch, in my opinion is the most difficult of the controls, as you would think it would be neck/both/bridge pickups. Instead, it is "Tapped/series/tapped with low end boost". I haven't figured out what "tapped" means yet, but I will say that you can get anything from a low rumbling deep muddy sound to a clear smooth bass, to a punchy high funk sound depending on the switch position, your EQ settings, and your balance adjustment. There's not a down side in my opinion. It's great for a beginner or a professional.
