5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Ukuleles

Unbelievably Awesome ukuleles for the price. I admit I have UAS( currently 15 Ukes, have owned about 20).I play/perform each week with 3 groups of Strummers and also teach Ukulele at a local Salvation Army (aprox 50 players total). I’ve been playing/addicted/retired 8 years now and have mostly acquired good beginner/starter quality instruments.mostly sub $100.I am a bit of a perfectionist and thoroughly research and test all Ukes I see. I met a few people with Caramel Ukes and was blown away with everything about them, especially the sound witch after a number of years I now can detect the nuances of a upper range quality instrument (usually $400-$1000).I read the Amazon reviews (4.6-4.7) really higher than anything else.A newbies asked me to get him a good starter(he doesn’t buy anything on line)so I ordered a Caramel Acacia Laminate package ($75).I didn’t see him for a few weeks so of course I needed to check it out.He never got this one,It Sings to my ears and the build quality was Great.I did reorder another for him(just as good as mine). Then my UAS kicked in and I purchased 2 more instruments from Caramel.I am not satisfied anymore with entry level quality and wanted an all solid wood Uke but didn’t want to pay $500-$1500) for Koa,Acacia,or Mango.Caramel offered a solid Acacia and Mango for under $150 ea for a complete kit with Electric feature and built in Tuning (no clip on)Don’t expect too much right,WRONG.Both Blew me away, gorgeous gloss, very nice rich wood grain, smooth fret ends,low/easy action ( like butter)TONE (now my #1 priority was unbelievably rich on both ,I can’t hardly put them down or choose which to play.I put Low G strings on both (my personal preference,a bit more bass)but the standard strings are excellent. How can Caramel offer these at this price point?Sometimes things actually are too good for believe. This is the Only Company I will recommend to my students!Keep it up Caramel! I don’t write reviews, this is my 1st,no self interest or influence in any way.I was just so impressed,I procrastinated for a while but each time I play one I feel the need to share and thank Caramel for a job well done! Check ‘em out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Mango Acoustic/Electric - WOW!
Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2024
I have over a dozen ukuleles, including an Ohana Solid Mango worth over $400. I couldn’t resist buying this mango for only $99. Too good to be true? No, it’s the real deal!

    PROS:
Comes with flourocarbon strings, plu an extra set!
    True gloss SOLID mango! SOLID!!!!
The electronics are GREAT! Built in tuner, volume knob and 3 way tone control! Not to mention it is dead quiet through an amp when not played!
No sharp frets, and everything is what they call “tidy construction”
    Sounds great plugged or unplugged!
Comes with gig bag, strap, hangar, picks, cloth and more!
Piezo pickup is good and even across all 4 strings.
    Beautiful instrument and nice finish!

    Cons:
A few high frets, but not much
Action kind of high out the box. Over 3mm at 12th fret.
Intonation gets sharp up the neck…it may be because the strings are too high off the fretboard.

I plan to put Worth Brown strings on it (my favorite!)
Put a bone saddle in and sand it down for a goal of 2mm at 12th fret. That might cure the sharp intonation.
Maybe sand the nut down a bit…but it’s not too high. Out the box it’s very playable.

So the Ohana Mango cost 4x as much as this and it isn’t even electric….is it 4x better? No! This uke is well done! Easily one of my favorites now, and once I adjust it a bit, it should really impress! I also have the Caramel Solid Acacia Acoustic/Electric as it’s only $79 (?!?!). Wow! Acacia is basically koa wood not grown in Hawaii. I also have a Caramel uke bass, and it’s great too! Proof you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great instrument! I have ukes over $600 and this Caramel holds it’s own right up with them! Overall I am very impressed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in it's class $100 Ukulele
Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2025
I'm a 45-year pro that was skeptical of a $100 Uke with this many 5-star reviews.
Believe them. This is the best $100 price range Uke I have seen.
Pros: Great wood, finish, playability. Nice and loud. Pickup is quite and loud enough. The sound and intonation is good enough to use for pro gigs. Even came with a strap, extra strings, wall hanger and batteries.
Notes: Action is a bit high, which was expected as a normal ship setting. A 10-minute action tweak is all it took.
Cons: Just one. The 1/4" cable has a loud buzz. I expected that too at this price range and will just get a good cable.
This Ukulele deserves 5 starts and is a great addition to my setup.
    Thanks Caramel!

I don’t have anything bad to say about this ukulele. It is a steal for the price! Very sleek looking. No sharp metals, no cracks or chipped part. It has a nice and sweet sound and stay in tune. Action also feels just right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Uke at an Incredible Price! (and not just for beginners)
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2024
This is my 5th ukulele. It's the least expensive (I couldn't resist the $99 price), but it's now the one I'm playing and enjoying the most. I seriously don't think you could find another real wood tenor ukulele under $200-$300 that can match this one's appearance, sound, and playability. That alone would be enough to make this an incredible deal at $99, but on top of that you're getting an electric uke with a built-in tuner (very accurate and easy to read by the way), AND accessories including a decent soft case and strap, picks, an extra set of strings and a cord to plug in to an amp. I'm amazed that they're somehow able to offer this at $99, but I'd say grab one now before they raise the price! You won't be sorry.
