You know that scene when the HS principle plays the bells or bell tone over the intercom to alert students to pay attention to the morning messages?

The sounds you can make with this miniature Steel Drum reminds me of just that.

Ad says it is for kids. Who they foolin' ??? This is for us grown kids who just love cool sounding toy instruments. Seriously this is very cool to play with.

I was a little skeptical but why not get it, I said to myself. I'm sure my GF will love it, she likes simple things.

Darn... I love it. I couldn't stop playing with it when it arrived. So much fun. Now I just need a drum machine to get a band started!

This small tongue drum has a nice sound (A-dorian mode I think?) and is easy for the kids (and me) to use. The songbook that comes with it doesn't really have any recognizable songs, but it's fine because just messing around with it makes pretty music.

Small tongue drum but the clarity and volume are surprisingly good

This small steel tongue drum is a fine introduction to percussion -- and music as a whole -- for a young person. The drum is well-made with no sharp surfaces. The tiny mallet included is enough to make the drum resonate with clear tones and volume. I haven't compared its notes to those of a tuner, but who would use this small drum to accompany other instruments? It stands alone as a basic musical instrument and could encourage users to upgrade to larger and more professional ones.
Unlike higher-priced steel drums this one does not include any instructions or a music book (as stated on the Amazon product page) or, for that matter, any information on the manufacturer or seller. For the clarity of the sound I give it four stars, but would give it only 3.5 stars if that were an option.

Fun and has a nice tone

I own several of these types of instruments in different sizes, and this one is by far the cutest. I comes with a small mallet and even a song book. Mine sounds in tune and is a lot of fun to play with. I have been using it to start meditations or even my workday as I like the vibrations and the sound. My 3-year-old grandson also likes it because it fits well in his little hands. Lovely tone and great price point.

This is so much fun to play with!!! They even include a song book so you can actual play it. It fits in the palm of my hand. Small enough even a child can enjoy using it. 10/10

I’m having a lot of fun playing this little drum and experimenting with it. Instructions included on how to precisely tune it - I have included them here because the printing is awfully small. I am not a tongue drum expert, but the instrument seems to be well-made. Comes in a nice box, presentable.
