This 1/2 Size Guitar Plays Like a FULL Size Guitar Light Weight and Sounds Great

I have bought several Enya Ukuleles in the past including the Nova Go Carbon Fiber ones. I have to say this is like a BIG version of that Ukulele but it's a guitar which is amazing because it sounds much bigger and better than you would think when you first pick it up. It's very light weight and comfortable to play. I was very impressed with the quality in workmanship and the sound that projects was incredible for it's size and the fact that it's made of plastic and carbon fiber. It also comes with a very nice semi hard shell case that has a shoulder strap that also doubles as a guitar strap. But if you don't want to use the guitar strap system ( they give you the tie for the headstock) you don't have to and just use your own strap with the included strap buttons. I think that was a nice touch. They also included an extra set of strings as well as a cleaning cloth. I am very happy with this guitar.

I own and have owned a lot of really nice guitars, both old and new, and made by both companies and individual makers. Does the Enya compare to these guitars in tone? No. But the guitar is marketed as a travel guitar. Lightweight and small, it delivers more sound than you would expect.

Does the Enya compare to the other guitars in playability? Yes--in fact better than many of them. The neck is comfortable and the fretwork is actually very very good. I'd probably prefer a bit smaller radius on the fretboard, but that's just personal taste. It plays great, and the small size frequently makes me reach for it above other guitars because I can play it in an armchair and grab it with one hand from across the room. I did lower the action a bit by lowering the saddle, but the factory action was decent. I just wanted it a bit lower. I build and repair stringed instruments so I was comfortable in doing this. Again, it played fine right out of the box. I'm just a bit of a guitar snob. I've had Martins and other good brands with much worse playability out of the box.

The fact that the Enya's construction makes it safe to take out in bad weather, leave in a hot car and other things that I just wouldn't do with a "better" guitar makes it a great travel instrument. Especially combined with its low cost.

Does the Enya's fit and finish compare with other guitars? Yes. The fit and finish are quite good. Finish on the fret ends is particularly impressive.

Bottom line--This is sold as an inexpensive travel guitar. It is definitely that. It doesn't sound like a megabuck acoustic, but I like the sound nonetheless. It plays really well, regardless of price point. It's a fun and practical little guitar, and it would be a bargain at several times its price in my opinion.

It's amazing to me that such a playable, enjoyable little guitar can be sold at such a low price.

Better than I expected...bigger than I expected

Very cool and very playable little travel guitar. I actually tried out 8 small sized guitars for various uses and found this Enya Nova Go one of my favorites. It sounded better and louder than I expected as it looks a bit like a toy with the baby blue color... The quality seemed decent with no major issues noticed after a week of playing. The overall size and length (36" top to bottom) was bigger than I expected and closer to a 3/4 size than 1/2 that its marketed as...The width of the fretboard was better than I had expected and made it more playable than I thought it would be... I'm a full sized adult and own a full sized mahogany dreadnaught(not shown) as well as the baby Taylor in the line up. I also ended up buying the larger Pyle (grey to the far right) which played amazingly well and was one of the cheapest of the bunch. This Enya I am using on my boat which is a wet environment and thus not good for keeping a wood guitar for long periods. Also I'm assuming the carbon fiber will be a more rugged design than wood in the long run. Overall very happy with this Carbon Guitar for its intended purpose.

Excellent first guitar for the little ones...

A friend of mine from the local Open Mic bought an Enya Nova GO - the 35", 1/2 sized one - for his 5-year-old grandson. I saw it when he received it, and my wife and I thought it would be good for our grandchildren to play around with when they come over. Our grandchildren are 2-4, and we had already purchased a cheap wooden nylon string for them awhile ago - with disastrous results...
Big mistake - letting them keep it at their house - I don't think it lasted very long in their somewhat-unstructured environment...
Anyway, as I looked at the Nova Go, I saw the Nova Go MINI - 32" instead of 35" - 1/4 sized instead of 1/2 sized - and thought it would be better for the little ones. Plus, it seems reasonably indestructible...and, we'll be keeping it our house.
It's pretty cool - a bit soft in volume, but loud enough for the kids. Excellent construction, good action, smooth neck, 1 5/8" nut width - perfect for little hands.
An excellent option if you are looking for a relatively-inexpensive actual instrument that won't break too quickly... :-)
