It's a little too soft, my chair digs into it and creates sunken areas it wants to stay in. It's doing it's job, though, and I'm not using it on a 1/4" carpet as it claims to be optimal for. This product comes rolled up in a tube, and is extremely stiff. If you follow the instructions, it will take about 48-72 hours to be mostly flat. You can do it overnight if you have some weight plates or something similar: force the edge of the product to unroll, and weight it down with something heavy. Unroll it and place a weight on the far edge. Place weight uniformly across the product. I did this in the evening and woke up to a flat chair mat.

Bottom line: annoying but understandable roll-up shipping method, and not the best mat but fine for the price.

When it arrives, it was rolled up tight, and REALLY hard to unroll, especially on the lip. I was really thinking it wasn't going to work but wondering how I could even roll it back up to get in back in the box if I needed to return it. Then I did something I almost never do, I read the instructions.

They say the heat will help soften the mat so it will lay flat. So I got out my trusty hairdryer, that we really only have to dry the dog, and went to town. And be dang, it worked. It still wasn't perfect, but within a day, it was complete flat as it it was never rolled up and my chair was rolling smoothly without any issues.

A couple weeks later, it's still good. It feels more durable than my last one I got at Staples that cracked pretty early on. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Works OK but chair does glide easily. Using on short nap carpet, and mat gives a bit, so resists rolling. Not as good as high-end hard-mat we were replacing.

I had purchased one of these previously, couldn't find the same one so I purchased this one. It took a long time to flatten out. The problem with this mat is its too soft. The wheels of the chair depress into the soft plastic material causing resistance to move your chair without giving it some extra push. The previous mat I had purchased was solid and firm. This mat over time just became a frustrating waste of money. You want a mat that allows you to move your chair freely or what's the point? That's the original problem you're on rug and you buy this for ease of movement of your chair.

It was a little hard to get flat right after opening as it comes rolled up but just a few hours it stayed flat. Great material, very sturdy.

The carpet mat is very soft, I'm about 190 lb, and the seat wheels are sink down and make it hard to move the chair. The price is cheaper than those hard pvc material carpet mat, so I think it's a mat to fit your budget.
