As someone who spends most evenings and weekends working on DIY projects at my desk, having a supportive office chair with smooth mobility is a must. The stock plastic wheels that came with my chair were prone to cracking and dragging across my hardwood floors and bad on carpet. I decided to try replacing them with this set of 5 clear rollerblade-style casters from Office Owl.

The easy pop-on installation took less than 10 minutes thanks to the universal stem mount design that fits most office chairs. Right away I noticed a huge improvement in how freely my chair glides across the floor without catching or requiring as much push force. The thickness and durability of the polyurethane wheels feels far superior to the thin plastic I had before.

I’m also pleased with how subtle the clear casters look, seamlessly blending in with my chair base without being an eyesore. The quietness of the roll is remarkable, no more squeaking or rumbling sounds when I move now! After a few weeks of heavy use, the wheels show minimal visible wear and continue to provide consistent smooth mobility.

My only small nitpick is that these casters are slightly taller than my original wheels, raising my seated height about an inch higher. But it’s easy enough to adjust the chair height to compensate. I bought 2 sets of these for my office chair and shop stool. Both installed without an issue. They look and function beautifully. Be careful not to give it your normal amount of "umph" when you scoot, these really roll super smooth and quiet. I did notice that one of the wheels had a high pitched squeek. I figured I would give it a few weeks to break in. Five weeks went by and still had the squeek. This was beyond the Amazon return period, so I contacted the seller and asked If they could assist me. The contacted me right away and sent me another set of wheels two days later. I'm sitting on my squeeky free wheels as I'm typing this. Treat yourself and your floors and buy these wheels all the while knowing that if there is a problem, you'll get taken care of.

We recently replaced our carpet with laminate flooring, and although we put measures in place to protect our new floors from the rest of our furniture, it didn't occur to me that my desk chair's hard plastic wheels needed to be replaced until my son recommended these. What a difference! Not only are they much safer for my new flooring, but they are whisper quiet. My chair also moves a lot easier, too. Installation was very easy...just pulled out the old, nasty plastic wheels, and pushed these into place.

They roll so smoothly, they glide so effortlessly, they work so well... after installing them I grabbed my desk to roll my chair forward as I normally would with the old original chair casters, and I FLEW forward at a surprising speed, smashing into the edge of the desk.
Considerably less effort is required to move around with these Office Owl casters!

These wheels roll on hard surfaces like a dream, silently and silky smooth, but they transition from hard surface to rugs or carpet without a problem thanks to the increased diameter of the wheel.

These Office Owl casters are 50% taller than factory wheels so you will notice a slight height increase in the chair, but it is minimal. These wheels are about 78mm/3" diameter. My factory chair wheels were 49mm/2" so it is only about 1/2" height increase, but they perform SO much better on carpets and rugs being 50% larger.

Because these are built well, using actual bearings for both the swivel and wheel and quality materials, they are capable of holding more weight than the cheap wheels that come with most chairs. To make up for the lower weight capacity on the factor wheels, they use 2 wheels side-by-side on each chair leg.
This design is terrible for swiveling and pivoting, when compared to a single wheel on each leg, as there is only one contact point and not 2.
These Office Owl casters use a single wheel per leg, so they pivot and swivel much more easily.

The only downside I have noticed is a slight squeak from the soft rubber on my concrete floor when they pivot in place. It is very slight and only lasts a split second as the wheel pivots in one spot. Once they roll, they're silent.

The fit was perfect, and installing them in a 20 second affair... flip the chair over, yank the old wheels out, pop these in, and flip the chair back over.
They fit well, they weren't loose in the legs, they stayed in place with no wobble, so installation is a snap.

I've got to use them for 6 months or so to see if any problems pop up, but so far they're great and they look nice.
I paid $20.87 for them, I just checked and they've gone up to $22.87, but that's still worth it if you're tired of small plastic crappy wheels that don't roll well and end up crooked and cracking.
