After downsizing to an incredibly small space, I needed to install a wall coat rack behind a BR door. But then the door wouldn’t stay all the way open because of the clothes. Enter this magnetic stop… However the magnet was WAY too strong, and I felt like I was going to pull it out of the wall each time I had to move the door.
One other reviewer suggested foil (I used two layers) and that made all the difference. I didn’t care too much about its appearance, but it’s not that noticeable anyway. The magnet is still strong enough to hold the door against the clothes, but now I’m not going to rip screws out of the baseboard when I need to move the door!

Very powerful magnet, will pull right out of the wall

This looks good and does the job well, but be thoughtful as you prepare to install it. I attached part to the baseboard first only to find it was going to be too low for the door. So I removed it and used the supplied anchors to attach it just above the baseboard. Matched up nicely but pulled right out of the wall when I tried to close the door. For my final successful attempt, I attached with the bottom half on the baseboard and the top half on the drywall. The matching piece that attaches to the door is screwed in with part of it overhanging the door. It's not perfect, but both pieces align, feel secure, and do the job well. The magnet is so strong, I can't imagine just using the adhesive would work at all.

I had a couple of interior doors that always closed behind you in our 5th wheel...I wanted to them open for air flow. These magnets are more than strong enough....I used them just with the adhesive, so we don't have drill holes. Surprised me, I figured a few uses and they pull loose but it's a couple months in and they are still have good adhesion. Very easy to install too!

These were the solution to sooo many problems. Then they became a problem. They were so easy to install, but instantly one stopped sticking. I figured I didn't clean the wall well enough. Then a few weeks later one ripped off the exterior wall and took the paint with it and now the third one I installed (indoors) came off the wall and the round sticky part took paint with it along its outer edge.
I'm so disappointed because now I have damages to repair when I intended to make life easier.

These are nice and solid. The magnets are strong and feel like they will hold the door open no matter the breeze coming through. You have to give it a very firm pull to break the magnetic hold. It comes with 2 large steel plate disc's and double sided foam/tape to secure these to the door and wall if you're lazy like me and want to stick them. If you do use the disc's on both parts it will possibly hinder you from attaching it to your molding. You might have to put it on the wall vice the molding like I did. However, if you do no use the disc's and tape, it does come with screws and drywall anchors. If using the screws you can attach it to the molding. I have 4 of these so far and I will be buying more as I continue to go through and paint the interior of my house.

Great for stopping wind from slamming the doors

During the spring and fall we like to leave our windows open and would have issues with the wind catching the doors in the house and slamming them shut. Picked these up and used the glue circles rather than screws to attach to the baseboard. So far they have stuck fast and worked great. The magnets are really strong and hold the doors open. Really happy with this purchase.
