First, it was easy to assemble. I was wondering how the shade would work out since it just appeared to be a rolled up piece of fabric but it actually looks really nice and is held relatively taut by the two metal rings and the velcro on the shade itself.
The base is very sturdy and heavy and resistant to tipping. The powder coating seems durable (I got the black) and well done. I'm not too keen on the foot switch but I just got a remote outlet to plug it into- problem solved. I do wonder if I get a dimmer bulb instead of the 3 different light settings bulb, if it'll work the same way.
Either way, as long as it continues working for at least a year, I'd buy it again.
