    I purchased a different lamp that was similar make to this lamp. After 1 year or less the lamp stopped working. I reached out to the company who provided me with another cord attachment but it was no help. I liked the esthetic of the other and I think this lamp is also esthetically pleasing. Praying that it last.

    Decent lamp, good for the price. Very basic. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the shade color. It's white no beige like it is in the pictures.

    I purchased this lamp for my office at work in the brass gold color. The shade is glass which looks very nice for the price paid. It was very easy to put together. I have received compliments on it. The logo on mine is just a small "v" and I don't mind it.

    This lamp has a few significant flaws, most of which arise during assembly:
    1. While the base has a slot for the cord to run through it and be routed out the side, the cord is instead routed out the side of the bottom tube. This means the cord has to twist with the final tube as you screw it in. Be sure to twist it half a dozen rotations or so in the opposite direction before you start screwing it in or the cord will be overly twisted inside the tube.
    2. The rubber washer around the hole where the cord leaves the bottom tube sticks to the cord better than it does to the metal, so it will probably pop out when you pull the slack cord through, and it's a pain to get back in. Do as much jockeying with it as you can before screwing the last tube in so you can pull the cord back to help get the washer properly seated.
    3. The shade came wrapped up outside-in, so it had a pretty strong bend in the wrong direction, with enough springiness to it to overcome the velcro that holds it onto its frame. You'll have to roll it up the right way for a bit in order to get it to stay on.
    4. The way the shade attaches to the base is somewhat problematic in that it's easy to accidentally detach it while tightening the nut that holds it in place. At first I thought it had broken, but it seems it had simply come unscrewed.
    5. The shade absorbs a crazy amount of light. Rather than diffusing the light, it simply dims it. For my use, I was able to find a compromise by undoing half of the velcro holding the shade in place, leaving the wall-facing side fully open. The result makes the lamp look like the flying nun, but it does the job.

    With all that said, the lamp is still decent. At the end of the day, it does what a lamp needs to do, and the floor switch is quite convenient. Assuming it continues to work, I'd say it's soundly middle-of-the-road: worth the $30 I paid for it, but not outstanding.

    Preferring soft light to overhead glare, i have been shopping for a simple yet quality standing lamp for a particular wall in my kitchen. I wanted a gold/brass metal finish and a white glass shade that would coordinate with my globe chandelier and fixtures. This very affordable and sturdy lamp is just what I was looking for. I couldn’t be happier!
