this lamp is WORTH buying. the appearance of the lamp is IT, the brightness is BRIGHT & the charging pad is so helpful. the lamp is also BIG & can extend to make longer. it also folds to be put away creating space to your liking. the built in charging pad also allows the phone to be held up like a phone stand. perfect to watch shows, movies, etc. only thing is when charging the phone it must have a charging phone case on it to activate the charge. you can also remove your phone case if you don’t have one of those cases & angle your phone to wireless pad. still works. 3 different light settings are built into the lamp. you change them with the “M” button & make the light brighter or dimmer with the arrows. the buttons on the back were a bit tricky to figure out, but READ the directions it will help if need some. you will be able to fix the time, date, year & add an alarm. overall lamps appearance & durability is WORTH the price & buying again if already have purchased before.

-Light - Excellent brightness, Dimmable, Options for light warmth
-Display - Date/Time, Day of the week, and room thermometer (nice!)
-Base/Arm - Minimalist touch controls, excellent arm/light articulation, fold-flat/compact construction for storage and travel

—CONS:
-None

TIPS:
-If Date is correct but Day is not, press S button and then the Up (↑) button (both on back of arm) to adjust the year at the top of the display. (NOTE: The year on my display was initially set to 2009.)

-While display is NOT in adjust mode (i.e. nothing flashing), press the Down (↓) button on the back of the arm to toggle the temperature unit between Celsius (C) and Farenheit (F)

-Hold the Power button down to turn the display backlight on/off.

This is an inexpensive, feature-rich desk lamp that also functions as an alarm clock and phone charger. Its great for a student’s desk or casual nightstand but it would look out of place in a room with fancy furniture. I particularly like the display integrated into the post and the nightlight. I assume 95% of folks will use their phones or iPads for alarms but its still nice that one is included here. But this leads me to the one area that I don’t like. The alarm (as well as all setup) requires using the four tiny buttons on the back and that is a nightmare. The buttons should have been twice the size and perhaps arranged 2x2 rows instead of the four tiny ones all scrunched together in a single row. They are impossible to use by just reaching behind sight unseen like they are designed now.

I like the display which shows the time, date and temperature. I have not used the inductive charging feature, since my old phone does not do that-but the USB port on the back is good. I like having three "warmth" settings to the light. Does it's job with some style (people have commented).

I bought this to replace another desk lamp that was failing. One of the attractions was the built-in wireless charger. Unfortunately, when I put my phone on the charger, it cycles in and out of charge mode. The phone is in a case, but I never had a problem with the Nanami charger I also bought from Amazon. I wound up plugging the old charger into the USB port and not using the charger on the lamp.
