    I recently bought the Paper Mate Handwriting Triangular Mechanical Pencil Set for my child, and they have been a huge hit! These pencils are specifically designed to help young writers develop good handwriting habits, and they truly deliver on that promise.

    The triangular shape is fantastic for little hands, making it easy to hold and control the pencil correctly. The 1.3mm lead is just the right thickness, preventing breakage and providing a smooth, consistent writing experience. My child loves that the pencils come with lead and eraser refills, so we don't have to worry about running out anytime soon.

    Both of my kids are using these pencils for in-class and home assignments, one is a 5th grader and the other is the 3rd grader. With 1.3mm diameter lead refill, the pencil creates bold lines for the smooth and consistent writing, great for students to work on some specific assignments (sketching or making bold notes). Also for that thickness of the lead refill, it’s more durable and less prone to breaking compared to finer leads, more beneficial for those who tend to press hard while writing or drawing. The other features like built-in eraser, textured/cushioned grip and advancement mechanism of the pencil, provide convenience and enhance comfort during extended use. Would recommend these!

    As a connoisseur of writing utensils, I love a good mechanical pencil. I’m always disappointed in how the thickest lead you can find in the store is 0.7mm, maybe 0.9mm if you’re lucky. But even those thicknesses end up being brittle, squeaky or hard to read. I use pencils to mark up sheet music and need dark, thick lead to read my notes. If you’re looking for sturdy lead that writes smooth AND dark, these are for you. The thickness, big eraser and cute colors make these look like your favorite pencil from elementary school. Absolutely in LOVE with these and can’t wait to use them.

    I teach a diverse population and these pencils are a crowd favorite! The design is great as an adapted writing tool for students who prefer a larger pencil or marker or need an easier tool to grip.

    This pencil is the perfect thickness and is sturdy. It will not break easily unless you’re really trying to bust it. The triangular design makes the pencil much easier to grip than traditional pencils which my students love.

    The colors and quantity make this product versatile in the classroom to use with different student’s preferences.

    Overall, compared to other similar products this was the best value for my money as well as a high quality product. I’ve bought this at least twice now and will continue to purchase it.

    The lowly pencil doesn't get much love anymore, but I'm old school (well, perhaps I'm just "old") and I like to use pencils for crossword puzzles and word searches because those tasks occasionally require some occasional erasing. I generally employ wood pencils for my paper puzzling but found myself recently without one at the ready so I decided to deviate a bit from my usual habits and try this Paper Mate Triangular Mechanical pencil instead. I wasn't confident about my purchase initially, as my past track record with mechanical pencils has not been good, but these turned into a very pleasant purchase. First off the lead is satisfyingly thick. So often you find plastic mechanical pencils are equipped with the sharpest, thinnest lead, such that even a minute amount of pressure either results in breaking the lead, and/or puncturing the paper. Not so with these. They write as nicely as my trusty vintage Ticonderoga or my reliable Mongol, with a smooth, dark and responsive lead. The Paper Mates are a delight to hold and very comfortable in my hand. These are bargain priced and absolutely worth every penny. Will I switch to these permanently? I'm not sure as I do like my wood pencils, but they are the nicest mechanical pencils I've ever encountered.

    This pencil is a triangle shape. The lead portion, where the pencil would be sharpened if it were not mechanical, has the feel of a wood pencil. The lead is thicker and does not break easily. I like this for when students are writing. I got this on a really great deal and ordered a couple of packages. I could see giving one of these to your students as a 'handwriting' tool and requiring them to use it, although this would require providing lead. I do like the way it writes, but gave it a 4 because it is a little thick for my liking. However, I do think it would be great for students. The colors are vibrant and it is sturdy. I think the triangle shape makes it comfortable and lends to encouraging that of holding a pencil correctly.

    These are the best pencils on planet earth. I had read about Blackwing pencils and how legendary they were so I overspent on those. These are much, much better than Blackwing pencils. They glide along effortlessly. I have never experienced anything so smooth. And the line is really dark and easy to read. Darker than you'd expect. If you work in a profession as I do where you write with a pencil all the time and you struggle with how mechanical pencils break and wood pencils always get dull and need to be sharpened, this will 100% solve your problem. It's like writing with the sweet spot of a wooden pencil constantly. Whoever designed these was a genius and deserves an award. Oh, and the colors rock.
