5.0 out of 5 stars Snow Day Savior: EGO Power+ Snow Blower Makes Winter a Breeze!

Pros:
This snowblower has exceeded my expectations in multiple ways. First and foremost, the battery life is incredible. I managed to clear my entire driveway and sidewalks on a single charge, even after a heavy snowfall. The dual battery system is a game-changer, providing the extra power needed for tougher jobs. It’s also surprisingly quiet compared to gas-powered blowers, making early morning snow removal much more neighbor-friendly. Which I did plenty of. The machine is lightweight and easy to maneuver, which is a huge plus for someone who doesn’t want to wrestle with heavy equipment. The build quality feels robust, and the adjustable handle height is a nice touch for ergonomic comfort.

Cons:
There are a couple of downsides to consider. Firstly, the price is on the higher end for a snow blower, which might be a dealbreaker for some. Also, while the battery life is impressive, it does take a few hours to fully recharge, so having a backup battery or two is almost a necessity for larger properties or back-to-back snowstorms. It does have a little harder time with really wet snow so getting it as soon as possible is good to do.

Overall:
This snowblower is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to upgrade their snow removal game. Its cordless convenience, impressive power, and thoughtful design make it a standout option in the market. While it does have a few minor drawbacks, they are far outweighed by the benefits. If you’re willing to invest a bit more upfront and possibly in a couple of spare batteries, this snow blower will make your winter chores significantly easier and more efficient. I highly recommend it for anyone who values performance and convenience in their outdoor tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth it and more power then you think

I used it 2 times so far and its worked great seems about the same power and as my toro gas blower. The best is its quiet and and easy to start. The 5 amp battery lasted for 3 average driveways so if your just doing 1 I think the 1 battery will be enough also works with the 2.5amp battery. Can take 2 batteries I only used 1 and it had enough power . I will say the bottom scraper cleans very close so if you have a big ridge in your driveway you have to lift slightly so you don't bang into the same with the gas blower too but I noticed it more with this one. There are less parts to change if there's a problem looks very easy to work on. It's light weight and so easy to use my wife felt comfortable using it! Folds up nice and small and you don't have to worry about loosing the knobs to vibration. All and all I would says its definitely worth the money for the average size home owner and you wont hurt yourself starting or using it in the cold and after seeing an elderly woman in another town shoveling her driveway I thought this machine would be perfect for her. Only complaint batteries are expensive!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worked Pretty Well On One Battery On Its Inaugural Outing

Last week we had our first decent snowfall of ~7-8" in suburban Minneapolis which allowed me to try out the snowblower I bought to replace our 25 year old 2 stroke snowblower that decided not to start this winter. I bought an E-Go lawn mower last summer that came with a 10Ah battery, so I bought the snowblower without a battery, hoping the single battery would work okay. I was a little nervous this might not work out as I wasn't seeing any reviews running the snowblower on just one battery. I am pleased to report that the battery held up, running the blower at full speed to clear three ~20'x40' driveways. E-Go says the blower can throw snow 40'. That may be true - certainly it threw the snow an impressive distance, but what I found was, at full speed, the unit blew snow in every direction. I and the snowblower were completely encased in snow very quickly (see attached pictures). This might not have happened if I slowed down the speed, but my primary goal was to test out the battery. A fair amount of snow fell into the battery compartment when I took the battery out. The snow was pretty stuck on the snowblower and did not melt off in the garage for the next several days because it is not warm like a gas-powered unit. Overall, I thought the snowblower worked pretty well. It is sweet that there is no yanking on a cord to get it to start or blue smoke filling the garage. I liked the easy swivel of the chute compared to the crank on our old Toro. However, it is more difficult to push than our old blower, particularly over driveway transitions. I think that is because it has metal blades compared to the rubber thing on the old unit. The 10Ah batteries are super expensive, so I don't think I will ever recover the cost compared to gas. Also, the E-Go unit case is all plastic - I don't think I'll get 25 years out of this snowblower. Time will tell.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works in both dry and wet snow
Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024
I have to say I am very impressed. I have a corner house with lots of sidewalk and a deep 3-car driveway plus trailer pad. I was concerned about battery life and how it would handle in wet snow. I am not worried any more.
I have used it 4 times since I purchased it a month ago (steel auger version). The first 3 times the show was dry and about 3-5 inches deep. The 4th time it was 2 inches of slushy, heavy snow. It got right down to the cement each time and never even acted like it wanted to clog. It even did great on the snow mound the street plows left in front of my driveway. I used 2 7.5 AH batteries. I still had 1-2 bars left each time.
The unit I bought is the one that does not come with batteries. I already had batteries that I used for mowing. If you do not already have batteries, buy the one that comes with the batteries and charger. You can get it with either 5 or 7.5 AH batteries. It is tons cheaper that buying the batteries and charger separately.
