Works wonderful! Lightweight and easy to use and put together. It’s a little work horse for trimming around the yard. Cut’s great will need to get chain sharpened at some point but it’s just what I needed for small projects. Bought an extra battery so no downtime in between. Has enough power to cut through branches easily.

I've been using this for quite awhile, thinking it would bite the dust by now but it's still going strong. Best battery life of any battery-op tool I have and works like a little powerhouse when I need it the most (which is all spring/summer). Have yet to sharpen the blades since they are still just as effective as when I first bought the chainsaw. Very impressed with Greenworks so I've gotten their saws-all type tool, as well. At this point, I'll shop their brand first before purchasing as their batteries last the longest and the quality of their tools is excellent.

I have a corded chainsaw. It cuts alot faster than this chainsaw. The battery seems to last a decent amount of time.It is light weight so easy to use.

My wife loves chain saws and pressures LOL I got her this one because it's pretty light weight and has enough power to do the things she does in the garden. Trim smaller tree branches etc. She loves it. Good battery life. Good safety features. She makes me start it and clean it when she is done, however. She just likes the fun part lol. Recommend it.

I absolutely love this chain saw ! It is not to heavy has a good amount of battery life and well it cuts a good size growing tree or falling branches ! No complaint I would buy it again ! So looking for a good add on to a gas powered one then this one should do a good job ! Very easy to work with as well !

I have to say that this battery chain saw is "The Cat's Meow"! I had several trees blown down because of a horrific rain storm. This little Monster handled the task wonderfully! These trees were over 40 feet tall and Blacck Walnut, trunks around 8" to 10" and this saw cut them up without Stuttering. I read the bad reviews, and all I can say is that these people do not know how to use a battery chain saw. You do not Force it to cut, just apply LIGHT force and let the saw do it's own cutting. What is really nice is you do not have the NOISE made by a Gas powered saw, so refreshing! I really like this saw and I highly reccommend it!

I would give this saw 6 stars if possible. I've had it a few years and use it primarily in close quarters situations where it is hard to get a larger saw into. So thus saw has taken an absolute beating. I haven't been nice to it at all, but all I have to do is keep it topped of with bar oil and the battery charged and it just goes.

I've yet to have the battery give out before I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good, with two small exceptions

I live on seven acres of land in north central Texas. I use the chain saw on the one acre of land on which our home sits, several times a year to cut fallen branches and limbs or to trim trees. I guess I'm like a lot of the "old guys" writing these reviews in that this battery powered chain saw is SO MUCH more convenient than its gas-powered predecessor. In fact, I know that in the past I've let a branch or limb sit as fallen for longer than I should have because I didn't want to go through the rigmarole of messing with getting the gas chainsaw prepped and started. Now, using this battery powered model requires about 10% of the time and effort previously used to prepare and start the gas powered saw.
Another realization: my gas saw was 14 inches; I've realized in the year or so I've owned the Greenworks, that 12 inches works fine for my purposes. I still have the 14, but haven't used it once, and probably never will.
The Greenworks works fine, and does a good quick job. I don't notice a significant difference between the gas and this one as far as time taken or quality of cuts. The battery lasts about two hours, which is about as much as I can do at one time anyway. In fact, it's never run out on me because I tucker out before the battery.
I'd highly recommend this product; I think you'll be glad you got it. All of that being said, there are two complaints I have. Like any chain saw, you have to make sure to use bar/chain oil. The problem is that the indicator to show you how much oil remains in oil compartment is not transparent; it's opaque. I've held it up in the sun, I've look at it in the shade, I've shined a flashlight on it to see how much oil I have left. You just can't tell. (You'd think some young, enterprising engineer or technician in the Greenworks family would have noticed this "emperor wearing no clothes" situation and said, "Ah, excuse me, but will the customer be able to actually see how much oil he/she has left?" Bottom line on this is that I use the saw for 20 or 25 minutes, and then I add fresh oil. By that time, the oil seems to have depleted itself. I 'd guess that in two hours of work, you'd probably have to add oil about five times. My second complaint is that while the battery snaps in place easily, it's a bear to get off. I sit in a garden chair with the unit ton the ground in front of me. I wrap both feet around its sides, and with BOTH hands pulling on the release lever, manage to pull off the battery. That's the only way I've been able to get it off.
If it weren't for those two complaints, I'd definitely give this saw five stars. Buy it...you'll be glad you did.
