5.0 out of 5 stars The frame is adequate and holds a lot; the cover is superb

This does indeed hold an entire face cord of split logs. Fairly easy to put together and feels solid once loaded with wood.

The cover is particularly nice. I was worried that it would be difficult to put on by myself, but it was a cinch. It came with large, heavy duty zippers and these made it very easy to put on. Also has velcro tabs at the top to hold the flaps up while you are pulling out wood.

    100% recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars easy to assemble, solid cover

This is an excellent product. I have bought many log holders over the years. This one hit the mark for all the areas one would expect and then some. The overall weight of 29.9 lbs is certainly in the cover. One of the most solid and well-made I have ever seen. The holder itself is very light yet sturdy. The instructions were beyond easy and actually not really necessary. As far as the item not being able to stand up, yes, if you put it in the dirt, it may lean one way or the other. It has small legs and a half-cord of wood, even one that is seasoned, still has some weight to it. So my 4-stars is because of the skinny legs. I am guessing a majority of us place this in dirt or some other soft area so maybe make the bottom of the legs larger so it won't sink in. One of mine did, so i exercised some brain power and put some support items underneath a leg or two. Ignore those reviews that struggled with those two items. Those folks probably shouldn't be in the DIY arena.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price - wish the bolts were a little heavier and came with more washers

Assembly was not difficult, a little awkward with one person, but with two would be a breeze. The legs are thin enough that if you load it up it will dig into the ground and eventually will fall over. I bought $20 worth of pavers at HD and won't have this problem. This needs to be located on a solid surface. You can get cheap pavers for $2.50 and only really need 3 of them. I went the whole length with (5) 16" pavers and it looks nice.

I wish the fastening hardware was a little more robust. I added split-lock washers on the most important fastening points so they shouldn't loosen over time. The holes are big enough for heavier bolts, but they only provide (probably) good enough thickness bolts.

Keep in mind with the full height cover this thing will be a big sail in the wind if you don't have a good amount of wood weight on it. Or keep the zippers open if it is not holding much weight.

I bought standard firewood that has a slight variety of lengths. The shortest pieces can fall through, so load the bottom with the longer pieces and put the shorter pieces above them. If you buy standard firewood (avg 16"), this will hold 32cuft (6x4x1.333), which is 1/4 of a full (128 cuft) cord. You can also call it 3/4 of a FACE cord. I simply call it "plenty."

5.0 out of 5 stars Going strong after 2 seasons!
Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2023
I purchased to keep wood for my firepit after a tree fell in my yard and I decided to go all lumberjack. Bought a chain saw, splitting axe and this storage rack.
This rack is awesome for the price!
It was easy to assemble, kept the wood dry and seasoned with almost no leaks.
This 5ft version holds about 1/4 cord give or take as shown in photo. The thing is sturdy and the cover works great. It's heavy material with zippers and clips to secure in place if it gets windy.

    Only cons..
    1. The bolts on the base will start to rust after the first year if you don't lift it off the ground. I just slapped a paver stone under each leg and at the center for extra support. I'm going to clean the rust and paint the bolts with rustoleum. Should be good for another season or two. Worst case I'll buy some more bolts from HD.

    2. You can't have the straps secured and open using the zipper to grab wood. You have to disconnect the clips.

I’ve had this for over a month now and have not had any issues. The protective cover is good quality and the zippers are heavy duty. I have put over 100 pieces of wood on it with no problem.

I should have known before I even put the wood on how flimsy these were. They wobble and are not stable at all. The legs are only held on with 10mm screws and the legs started to buckle as we stacked more wood. As you can see from the pictures the screws holding the legs on sliced/pulled through the metal and the back bottom rail broke causing the while bottom row of wood to tip and pull off the front rail, tipping the rack completely over. This happened to BOTH racks we purchased so definitely a quality issue here. Thankfully they fell away from us or else we could have gotten really injured.

Also have to note this doesn't hold 1/2 cord of wood. Maybe 1/3 at best (we ordered 1 cord and between 2 8ft racks we had 1/3 left over with no space on the racks.

The covers are really the only redeeming part here. They are good quality but ours ripped since we had the cover on when the rack decided to collapse.

If you get these, they HAVE to be reinforced somehow. Weld it, use cable to secure the legs on, or something.

Update - I emailed the seller and they refunded both racks completely

Pretty easy to assemble rack . Love the Velcro for keeping the flap open while using. Seems very durable so far. Cover is pretty thick material. Bottoms of feet could be bigger. Need a solid surface like a pad or pavers under feet.
