5.0 out of 5 stars WOW

Our pool guy never showed up to fix the line for our Polaris. Pool had much on bottom. Bought this as it runs independently. Cleaned pool totally in 2 sessions of 3 hours. It runs out of battery in the bottom the deep end which is a drag - and I have to fish it out. If I loose the hook we'll be sunk. Should come with 2 hooks. It came fully charged. So far so good, only had it 2 days. Saw commercials on tv and I immediately bought one. Would definitely recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars App is a literal non-starter - luckily, WYBOT works "swimmingly" without it!
Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2024
Upon opening the WYBOT, the user is directed to download the associated app to monitor and control the device via phone and Bluetooth connection - unfortunately, the app itself is an unmitigated disaster, with a slate of 1 star reviews because it, quite literally, can't get past the point of new user sign-up at the user sign-up screen. Upon attempting to set up new user credentials, the app immediately fails and an error message is provided, at which point all further use clearly fails as well.

THANKFULLY, adorable little WYBOT does his job to a tee without connection to the app. After needing to be charged initially upon unboxing, we powered him on, submerged him beneath the water line until he sunk to the bottom, and then watched as he proceeded to zip and zap across our pool, climbing walls and stairs as necessary, and motoring around diligently collecting debris for 2 full hours on one charge. We were in the pool with him for awhile as well, and while he bumped us a couple of times, it was gentle and did not provide any scraped toes or uncomfortable contact.

Upon finishing his work, WYBOT then "parked" himself patiently against a wall and waited to be hooked (hook is included and attaches with click tabs to a pool skimmer pole) and removed. I am not 100% sure why WYBOT's developers didn't give him the capability to crawl out of the pool on his own upon finishing (he can crawl up and down walls, corners and stairs), but having to hook him out and bring him back to dry land for a charge is not a big deal.

Upon emptying WYBOT's basket, we were impressed with how much gunk he'd accumulated! Lots of fine sand/gravel size debris, lots of leaves, a few errant bugs, and other such detritus from out pool bottom. Skimmer basket is easy to remove and features a flip down door to allow quick dumping - it picks up enough smaller debris, however that you will probably want to hose it out as well. After that, let WYBOT dry and then give him another charge - and then send him off on his cleaning mission once again! Great performance and easy operation - even though the app is non-functioning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does a great job – very impressed

I’ve previously been using a much more basic Wybot pool cleaner. I’ve been very impressed with that product which has done a great job in keeping my pool clean. I particularly liked that it was cordless – I have friends with corded cleaners that are often tying themselves up in knots. However, it’s not perfect:
• It would simply suck up debris but not scrub the pool surfaces
• No cleaning of the pool’s sidewalls
• Random movement

This new cordless C1 cleaner also from Wybot addresses these deficiencies nicely. It has much more intelligent control and uses three powerful motors to move the cleaner and to scrub the walls. The movement is much better controlled and optimized and is able to clean the pool much quicker. A mobile device app is used to set up the cleaner prior to use and the various modes of operation are set up using that. Once the cleaner is in the pool, the app can no longer communicate with the cleaner which is a shame because now it can’t tell me when it’s finished.

In operation, it does a great job navigating my rectangular pool – apparently, it’s able to map the pool dimensions and can tell where it is in the pool so that cleaning becomes very precise and efficient. The scrubbing roller seems to be very powerful and does a great job in loosening deposits on the pool surfaces. I quickly learned that it would pull off some rechargeable underwater lights I had put into the pool, so I have to remove these before using this cleaner. It doesn’t pull off the magnetic mounting plates for these lights.

This new cleaner is a lot more money than the previous one but it does a much better job of navigating the pool, sucking up debris, and giving it a good scrub as it goes. I think it’s worth the extra.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far one of my favorites for wireless pool cleaning
Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2024
This wireless robotic pool cleaner does a very decent job with my complex pool geometry, especially considering where it is positioned in the market. From a coverage perspective I would compare it with other wireless robots at any price point. It moves around quicker than any of the other ones I've tried, and it's entertaining to watch it work. It doesn't seem to be frustrated by any of the weird angles in my pool, it just keeps going and going... The filter basket lacks some precision when installing it and may take a little effort to get in the correct position, but it's roomy and easy to clean. The app integrates easily with it and has the right amount of options for cleaning. The jets on it are very powerful and it travels well and with intention all around the pool. Since it only has one set of scrubbers and moves fast, it may not be quite the best at removing algae buildup, but it still does a very reasonable job. The battery charges fast and lasts a long time, at least two hours per cleaning. I wish the handle were easier to see when trying to hook it, especially through deep or moving water. My main complaint with Wybot robots is their charging port cover -- it can be hard to turn, and could really be improved by making it a bigger knob with better features for fingers to grip and get some leverage.
