I LOVE this feeder. It’s so fun and my husband and I are now bird obsessed. It is really difficult to keep out squirrels, even while offering them other high value stuff away from the feeder. We’ve tried black pepper and red pepper flakes, but may try cayenne. We’ve just become resolved to the fact that 2/3 of the videos are squirrels. We have also heard to switch to safflower and nyjer only because squirrels aren’t interested in it, so we will see. But the video is good quality, the solar charging works and it’s relatively easy to hang (although the Allen wrench could be a lot longer?)
**6/23/24 here to update my review. Originally I had the feeder set up on my porch with the solar panel plugged in all the time to keep it charger. However, a couple weeks ago the port broke off the back and it stopped charging (there’s a similar review early on with the same problem, it popped off where it was soldered on). I reached out to the company who informed me there is a secondary charging port that can be used to charge indoors, and that worked well, but you have to bring it back in every so often. However they also replaced the product for me when I provided pictures and my order number. They were lovely to work with and I am so happy still. I will be only plugging the solar panel in as needed now though. Also, hung it a bit higher and gave the squirrels other stuff to keep entertained and that’s been better too. Would still highly recommend this feeder and company.
