5.0 out of 5 stars Easy assembly runs great
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2023
Received the snowblower very quickly instructions are ok, was able to assemble fairly quickly. after assembly it snowed the next day and was able to put to the test with a very wet snow. It handled it pretty good. The only negative so far is there are no hand warmers as in the description. Contacted the manufacturer with help from Amazon support they responded very quickly saying how sorry they were about no hand warmers the description on Amazon was clearly wrong and if I had bought it from one of their stores they would compensate with an exchange or rebate. So I contacted Amazon twice with no response still to this day, feeling a little deceived about not getting what was in the description. Not the manufacturer fault but an Amazon mistake which is still in the description so don’t expect hand warmers !! Otherwise happy with the machine so far less the hand warmers and some money back. Amazon probably won’t post this review but it is a good snow blower.

I love the machine but gas cap was damaged in the shipping process. I would appreciate a new one as it was not my fault.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powersmart 24" with B&S 208cc engine + grips & LED
Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2022
Bought in June '22, delivered by UPS earlier than promised. Box intact, no oil stains on it either. All parts necessary were included to assemble it, including instructions and 20oz of powersmart oil. Not too bad to get it together, some pointers listed below.... Briggs engine fired right up, runs smooth. Auger engages, but the wheel drive cable needed adjustment to actuate properly... simple to do. Wiped off spilled oil from unit, probably from manufacturing as the engine is shipped dry. Couple of mini-dings on the housing, strictly cosmetic... easily straightened.

Check tire pressure: 20-24 is listed on the sidewalls, note the Rotation on it, too !
Lube the chute mount with silicone spray, it's plastic. The chute direction shaft should have a bit of drag on it and demonstrate a 'click click click' when it is rotated. Keeps it from moving when running. Shoot a bit of WD-40 in where the cable comes out of its sheath to prevent freeze up at the 'flapper'.
Handle bars have mount bolts that insert so the nut is outboard. Mount black shift rod first.
Cables are toward the engine side (inboard) of the horizontal shaft. Too tight the other way.
Adjustment is correct when the slack is gone. Not tight !
Optional: Auger gearbox takes 80-90w gear lube, mine was full. Fill is a little square drive plug on top.
Skid shoes on the housing should be adjusted to suit your driveway, higher for gravel, lower for paved....This may need to be adjusted again later.
Start engine and test all controls before Amazon's return window closes. Shut off fuel and let it stall out.

EDIT: Checking the oil (for first-timers) using a small engine dipstick : The level is correctly displayed when the stick is loose and just sitting there. NOT when it's fully seated ! Conventional oil is fine.

EDIT #2 (01/2024) Hey all ! Just ran this machine today, we got 8" of light powder... which is a yawner for little red. I noticed 2 things I'd like to share :

Forward speed is important for the clearing pass, as much as I'd like to blast thru the job, a little slower speed helps get most of it in one stripe. Especially at the foot of the driveway !
Secondly... about that forward speed : The speed ('gear') selector up top just loves to magically move to a faster rate all by itself while taking a pass. Simple fix... just need (2) 13mm wrenches to tighten the nut just under the handle a turn or 3. Fixed !
Bonus observation: The discharge chute also needs a bit of tightening so it keeps throwing in the direction I set it. Only one wrench is needed on the larger silvery nut with the spring above it to snug it. Tighten, then try it. Not too much !

Thanks for reading !! Further updates after another Lake effect blast visits ... /RZ

1.0 out of 5 stars FAILED ON FIRST USE

UPDATE: I am a 56 year old male living in Maine and I have an 80 foot long asphalted driveway. I purchased this snow blower in June of 2022 because it was on sale and I figured the price would go up if I waited until Winter to buy it. As can be seen below in my original review, there were issues with assembly. However, after completing assembly, I attempted to use it yesterday for the first time. I followed the user manual instructions to the letter and it started the first try using the electric start feature. However, after using the machine for just 30 minutes it suddenly would not drive forward. The only gear that would engage was reverse. After cleaning the snow from the blades so it would not freeze up overnight, I let it sit until the following day. The next day, the machine would not go into drive or reverse. The engine started and seemed to run well, but the machine would not move in any gear. I attempted to call Powersmart Customer Service, only to discover that they are not in operation on weekends, only weekdays. I then attempted to register the machine for warranty service at the Powersmart website. However, the website was not working properly and would not allow me to register the machine. Long story short, I am currently snowed in at my home and cannot get out because this brand new, never used, snow blower will not move. I cannot shovel snow due to being ill with viral bronchitis. I have no friends or family who can help me so I do not know what I am going to do. I will attempt to call Powersmart tomorrow (Monday) to see if they honor the warranty, and what hoops I have to jump through to get warranty service. Unfortunately, we have a huge storm coming in five days. I worry that the issues with the snowblower will not be resolved in time for me to clean out the snow that I have and be ready for the storm that is coming. In which case I will be even more trapped than I am now. Lastly, I live in Maine, where I have lived all my life. I have used every type of snow blower and snow removal device known to man, starting when I was 10 years old. We get a lot of snow, and it is literally a matter of life and death if we have no means of cleaning out the snow. We have to have reliable snow blowers - it's not optional . Considering that I used this Powersmart blower once, for 30 minutes, before it suddenly stopped working, I am giving it one star. The cost of a good snowblower from a reputable brand can be high, especially if you need something that can handle a foot or more of snow. I went with the Powersmart blower because it was much more reasonably priced than say a Craftsman or Husqvarna. To get one of those, it would cost twice what the Powersmart cost. But it's not a good deal if the machine cannot last longer than 30 minutes. I don't know what will happen with the warranty service, so maybe they will take care of me. I don't have the money now to buy another machine and as mentioned, we have a major storm coming in five days. If you live in a region that gets a lot snow, and it can be a matter of life and death to have a reliable snowblower, I would say to buy one from one of the better known brands. Yes it will cost you a lot more for a machine with the same features, but the build quality and reliability will be worth it.

Update #1: I just finished the nightmare of trying to assemble this machine. The instructions for assembly are very hard to read and figure out. Also, the two skids that go under the front cannot be properly attached because the nuts do not tighten down as far as they should to hold the skids in place. So I will have to go to the hardware store and buy some new bolts and nuts. The skids must be fully attached to operate the machine safely. I haven't actually started the engine yet to see if the machine is fully functional but given the poor construction quality i.e. bolts that do not fit on the skids, I do not have high hopes. Wish I had just spent the extra money to get a quality machine with parts that actually fit. Too late for me to return it so I guess I am stuck with it. I would not buy it again.
