These stones are beautiful. They do come in separate bags so if you are getting more than 1 color you will need to mix them, I just spread them in the pit and mixed around with my hands. Biggest tip is that I only needed half of what is recommended. Based on size said I needed 40 pounds, and 20 pounds was perfect
