I live in a cold and snowy part of the country. I worry about slipping on my steps and walkways which often get covered with ice. I used this product this year and was pleased with its effectiveness and with how long its efficacy lasted. It co tinted melting new ice for several days. It’s also important to me that it’s pet friendly.

I recently tried out this ice melt product, and I must say, it's impressively effective. It starts working on contact with ice and snow, quickly melting them away. As a pet owner, I was particularly pleased to find that it doesn't bother my dogs' paws, a major concern with many other products.

I've discovered it's most efficient when applied preemptively, just as the snow starts to fall. This proactive approach seems to reduce the amount needed and maximizes its effectiveness.

However, there's a significant downside: the cost. I used it sparingly on my modest-sized property, and to my dismay, I had already gone through about 75% of the 35lb bucket after just one snowfall. Considering the price tag of over $70, it's quite steep for regular use. Although I appreciate the product's effectiveness and pet-friendliness, the expense makes it unlikely for me to purchase it again. It's a great product, but its high cost is a substantial barrier for frequent use, especially for those of us with smaller properties to maintain.

Living in the mountains I’m somewhat of an expert when it comes to ice melt. I’m constantly in search of a better product. Some are only effective at certain temperatures, some don’t dissolve, many simply don’t work. Applied this ice melt for the first time last night after a foot of new snow which followed a mix of ice and snow.
Impressive!!!! WOW!!! This product really, really works!!! Easy to apply, and began working immediately. Temperature staying around 28 degrees. This morning the stairs and deck are still ice free! This is my new go to solution for ice!!!! Luv it!

The salt melts ice very well! The only issue I have is that it stains areas blue. It eventually went away but it took about a month or so.

Used it during the big snow and ice storms we got in WA State in December 22'. With 3 dogs, I wanted something that wouldn't burn their paws like rock salt does. This stuff doesn't appear to hurt them, but it also does not do a good job at melting ice.

I tried spreading both before and after the ice and never got it to work right. The parts that the salt touched would melt a little, but the result was speckled spots instead of melt. 3 stars and I'll be looking for another product.

This is safe to use on aggregate sidewalks and is also safe for use around pets. I also like supporting the smaller, less well known companies. Fast delivery, great product.
