5.0 out of 5 stars These work great!

I had a sudden problem both with closet moths and pantry moths. I heard these are different, but they both came at the same time so...? I had to wash everything in my closet and throw out a lot of pantry items.

I bought the 8 pack of these traps first and they worked so well, I subscribed and saved the 20 pack. For a house over a certain size with things like pets whose pet treat randomly get away under furniture, once the moths are in, it is hard to totally eradicate them. Keeping pantry boxed foods in food keepers and making sure traps are in closets with closet doors kept closed prevents further major problem, but I still catch a few every month from some mysterious source. They coccoon under rims of things: furniture, pianos, cabinets, ledges.

FYI: If you leave these traps stretched out instead of folding them as directed for moths, and then place them by a sunny window, they catch flies, too!
FYI: For the ones flying around you: I keep a small spray bottle of water with a few squeezes of Dawn added and shaken in by my side to spray any flying insects that may bug me who haven't made their way into a trap yet. The spray seems to kill moths, flies, and mosquitoes and is a lot less toxic than commercial bug spray. I was very surprised at the effect the spray has on flies. They are no longer sble to fly, walk around a bit, then die in a minute or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yay! It works!

The second I pulled an (unopened!) bag of rice out of the cupboard, I knew we had a problem! I did a deep clean: threw away all possibly contaminated cereals, pasta, flour, rice; vacuumed, then wiped down all the surfaces. But I kept seeing moths in the kitchen, and I didn't know how or where they were hiding. I was scared to bring any new moth-food groceries into my house - what I DID buy, went immediately into the refrigerator for safe keeping. Not a workable long-term solution.
So I bought these traps and set a few of them up as soon as they arrived. I stuck them in several locations in my kitchen. In less than a week, one of the traps looks like this! (see picture) And the traps in other locations are nearly empty. I know where I need to clean some more, and I am confident that the next generation of pantry moths has been prevented. When fresh traps remain empty for a week, I will know my kitchen is free of the moths.
Going forward, I plan to freezer-isolate anything suspect that comes into my home (one week at freezing temps should kill all eggs, larvae, and adults), and also leave traps sitting in every location with moth-susceptible foods. I'm grateful these are inexpensive, easy to set up, and so effective!

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes some time to work [Updated Review]
Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2023
Update - 10.10.23: I have updated my review (and title) and improved the score because it has begun to trap moths. I was surprised to see four dead moths trapped this morning when I was looking in the pantry. I'm assuming it must take some time for the moths to find it. We've had the traps out for about a week and a half now and we're starting to see results. I think exercising patience will be necessary to get the most out of this product. Happy to update my review with positive news; I'm still docking 1 star because I think the setup instructions could be reversed with better success, but otherwise the trap works as described.

Purchased these based on many positive reviews. Had an outbreak of pantry moths and larvae in a closet as a result of contaminated bird seed. Be aware that opening the package and following the directions led to one folding over on itself, self-attaching to the adhesive. The adhesive is quite strong (in terms of sticking to itself, but not moths in my experience) so this first trap had to be discarded. We reversed the steps - folded the trap, *then* removed the protective seal on the adhesive - with better results.

We have yet to catch any moths with the trap after a week or so. I actually had a moth flying in the air that I coaxed into the trap just to see if it would stick, but it landed on the adhesive and escaped with no problem.

Other people may have better luck with these based on reviews, but I found these to be useless. It neither seems to attract the moths nor catches them in the sticky adhesive. 2 out of 5 stars for me.
