We have an area in our driveway where it's always a bit too dark, and of course that's where my husband parks his truck. We've tried other solar lights for that area, since it does get full sun for the entire day, but haven't had much luck with them remaining lit by the time he leaves for work. At one point, we just gave up on solar lights and resigned ourselves to him using a flashlight to ensure he didn't trip over anything.
I did not fully change these lights because the day got away from me, so imagine my surprise to find them still lit in the early morning hours when my husband was leaving for work. We put these out at around 6 PM, and at 4:50 AM when he left for work, they were still on. Not only were they still on, but they were still bright enough for my husband to easily see where he was going, and then promptly turned off once the sun rose.
These solar lights were easy to assemble, I appreciate that the button to turn them on is housed inside the fixture, and really like their sleek look. They're decorative, but not fussy looking, so they don't compete with decorative plants.
The plastic housing around the lights feels very sturdy, and the stakes drove through some ground that was harder than I anticipated without issue. They've been up since we received them and have endured a big storm with no ill effect, and are still working perfectly.
I'm excited to see how they perform in the winter, since there's less daylight hours for them to charge, but seeing how quickly they've charged, I'm very hopeful that we'll still have light when we leave for work in the mornings now. I will update my review should I notice a significant change in performance or quality, but I don't expect I'll need to.
For a pack of 8, this was an excellent value, and as I use my Vine account to help me test things that I'll want to re-order, I can confidently say that I will absolutely be ordering another set of these for the other side of our driveway once we complete some landscaping projects.
