We bought it for camping since we don’t have an RV. We bought a battery station last year and thought that having solar battery to supply battery once it’s out is necessary. This solar battery hooks up well with the battery station. It’s compact, portable, convenient to carry and made from solid material.
We put it on top of our car and let it charge while we camp so we can enjoy the electric supply at night. It takes a few hours to fully charge but it’s totally worth it. I like the fact that the panel are foldable and there’s a carry case for the plugs. Looking forward to enjoying it more in the summer.

I bought this solar panel a month ago and love it! I really like that it is very compact and can be folded and carried away very easily. I also really like the amount of power it can hold and generate for such a reasonably priced solar panel. Overall it’s probably one of the best solar panels I’ve purchased and I’ve already recommended it to some prepped friends.

I bought this solar panel a month ago and love it! I really like that it is very compact and can be folded and carried away very easily. The technology has advanced a lot in recent years and this solar panel is definitely one of the latest as it can perform a rapid charge on my phone even during dusk. Will definitely be using it more this summer.

This project was more intimidating than I had originally expected. I don’t know much about solar panels and I didn’t expect them to be difficult to learn. So this product was more challenging than I expected because this takes some learning. It’s not just a simple plug in and done.

The panel itself is perfect and portable if you want it to be.

First and foremost, I love the fact it's all one piece. As you can see from the pics, it folds up with a very strong velcro strap holding it together. In the pics, I also demonstrated how the legs work but in all honesty I had it laying flat in the sun to begin with and it worked fine (on my driveway my truck bed is kind of at a 45 degree angle anyway so that could be why, YMMV)

I showed a pic of it connected to my mother's phone (I was using mine to take the pics lol), but you can't see the screen unfortunately lol but I can report it was charging at a rate the phone reported as Fast Charging. I don't have a meter to know exactly what the panels were producing, but I'd imagine they were close to their 100watt rating as the phone behaved exactly like it does when connected to my 100watt fast charger plugged into the wall.

The connections are kept very conveniently in a built in zip-up case, all the cords and the manuals fit inside so they never have to be seperated. I only used the built-in USB power connectors, but I have no reason not to think the solar battery cords would work equally well. The built-in USB fast charging ports is why I wrote my headline as I did as this would work anywhere you would normally use a USB fast charger, etc.

One thing I would likely do if I ever take it camping with me is invest in a several of the USB batteries and daisy chain them together and plug into the USB charger so that I could collect however much solar charging I could in the daylight hours (when you daisy chain USB batteries, they usually charge from last on the chain up to the first, as each becomes fully charged, the one above it in the chain begins filling its own battery bank, etc.)

Now at a 100watts, you have to be reasonable...you aren't going to run an entire house with these **BUT** if you're looking just to keep a phone/tablet charged when you're away from plugs, I see no reason why these couldn't keep you connected almost indefinitely ????

This is a nice looking 200W portable solar panel. It consists of four connected solar panels, each with a support leg on the back for setting the panel angle to the sun. The panels sit flat relative to each other when set up - but like all of these portable panels, they take a little wrestling to get propped up and aligned with each other and the sun initially. With a weight of 9.9 pounds, the unit is not difficult to position and open.

The solar connector cable is nine feet long, terminated in MC-4 connectors and housed in the attached, zippered accessory pouch, along with a set of power sockets to directly charge USB-A, C and 12VDC (DC5521 barrel connector) components (phones, tablets, USB lights, etc.). An included MC4 to Anderson adaptor cable adds connection flexibility. The accessory pouch zipper is designed to be water resistant.

The solar cells show no cracks or other flaws. On a sunny N.E. PA day in April, the panels achieved a 157W electrical output, with the panels laying flat on the ground, not propped towards the sun. This was, in my experience, a good showing.

My one concern with this portable solar panel is the omission or obscuration of some important information. When matching a solar panel with a portable power station, it is important to determine that the PPS can handle the panel's open circuit voltage. This is the voltage measured from the solar panel when the panel is not connected to a load at max rated power. This is a published number that should be compared with the maximum solar charge voltage limitation published by the the PPS and needs to be observed to prevent the PPS suffering possible damage. This is labeled Voc and it must not be greater than the published maximum solar charge voltage limitation of the PPS. I have PPS's that range in maximum allowable voltages from 19V to 30V.

I mention this because this Aferiy AF-S200 Manual does not mention the Voc value. It lists the voltage at maximum power (Vmp), a different spec, but not the Voc. Both values are important. Inside of the panel storage pocket, the panel specifications are printed, but they are almost impossible to read (see attached picture). There was a specifications list printed on the inner cardboard packing case - the thing that you throw in recycle so that you can play with your new toy! Unless, that is, you know to look for these numbers first. See the picture of the panel's Technical Details list from the box. It lists a Voc of 21.6V. That is the maximum voltage that this product can produce. It is not particularly high, a good thing for compatibility with PPS's This panel should work with most PPS voltage limitations. But you need to know that to be safe and not blow out your PPS on a sunny day by using a solar panel that exceeds your PPS voltage limits. I have owned fifteen different portable power stations, all but one with a 300Wh battery rating or smaller. Of those fifteen, five of them had a 19V or 20V maximum solar charging limit and could not safely be used with this solar panel. So this is something to know before you risk your expensive PPS. The manufacturer should make the Voc value easily found, and it wouldn't hurt to add a page to the operating manual to explain what this means. But few manufacturers do explain this.

So, what do I like about the Aferiy 200W Portable Solar Panels? Pretty much everything. They are well constructed and sturdy feeling. They are attractive with no flaws showing on my unit. The cable running from the panels that you attach to the PPS or solar charge controller (for stand-alone battery charging) is nine feet long! That is a lot of flexibility! The additional power box with sockets for 12V power and USB-A & C power is an excellent stand-alone item for charging electronic accessories directly without need for a charger or PPS attached. Once the panels are opened and properly angled for the sun, the panels remained even and straight - no sagging was apparent. And looking at comparable portable panel prices on the Amazon page, this unit is well priced.

Just take a picture of the Technical Details on the shipping box before you discard it.
