I bought this press spacifically tomake Smash Bugers and it works great for that. Other reviews mention bacon or other meats. Read the title, it says, "Smashed Burger Press." If you want a bacon press, buy a bacon press.
I've had it for almost a month now and have made smash burgers several times(my new favorite).
So far it has worked great. Being cast iron, it is heavy which helps smash the burgers evenly.
Cleaning is easy. Directly after cooking run the plate(not the handle) under hot water. Wipe clean with a towel, coat with oil(I use Conola) and that will prevent rust.
The only con I have is that it is 6.5" in diameter. I would much prefer a 5" model.
