5.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE/Cannot open container

I had to write an update to this review. After my grandson broke the top open, we were able to add this shock to the spa. I am pleased to say that my spa is sparkling clean! No chlorine! Five stars for the product. One star for packaging!

I would love to comment how effective this non-chlorine shock treatment is for my spa, but how the hell do you open the package? I have tried it, my 40-year-old daughter has tried opening it, now my 15-year-old grandson is trying. None of us are having any luck opening this thing. I think it was sealed with glue!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works good, lid was fine

Not sure if they changed the lid out, but I did buy, and had no problems with the lid. Squeeze and turn. Just get the little tabs outside of the stops. It was fine, oh and the products works too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value

Non chlorinated shock is a dime a dozen it is all the exact same ingredients. So why pay almost the same price for 1 or 2 lbs as you would this. If you have an old smaller container you can just refill with this. Actually with Spas doing this for chlorine, PH down etc is the way to go. You get 5X as much for like 1.5x the cost of a lb. Saves a lot of money in a couple years.
I bought one bag of PH down Clorox brand 4 years ago still have it still refill the small bottle. Shock and chlorine are used more frequent but buying in bulk is an easy choice. It is always nice to keep the small original bottles and refill them it is easier to keep all of those together when u need to use them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Single use product. Great customer service.

Addendum: I wrote a review months after purchasing this product about my frustrations with the inability to open the container. The company reached out to me immediately and issued a refund for my troubles. Excellent customer service! The product worked great, so I’d say it’s worth buying and shooting your shot at getting the lid off. If you struggle with this, reach out to the company and they will make things right.

Initial review:
I saw the reviews of others saying that the lid does not come off. I figured that had to be a user error and there had to be a way to get it off. Bought the product anyway. Discovered that the reviews are true: there truly is no way to remove the lid. I ended up having to drill a hole in the lid, therefore the next time I went to use it, the product was a solid block that was not usable anymore. The product itself worked well, but terribly designed packaging. Would not recommend it for that reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cleared up my water
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024
I have a 300gal hot tub. The water would always get cloudy. I would dump and refill before I was supposed to have to. I started adding this after each use and the water has always been clear since. Be sure to keep the pH, alkalinity and hardness in the proper range as well.

Either they changed the packaging or people are extremely unintelligent. I opened with absolute ease! Great product works good for the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY difficult to open !
Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2024
Even after watching the video on how to open this little bucket it still would NOT budge ! I completely removed the entire " red Tab" that was supposed to be easy to lift , then used a Mallet and a screw driver to try and get it to turn , STILL wont open . There are no instructions on the bucket itself on how to open it. I ended up having to use my Dremel and completely cut the top off , and off course the bucket fell of the workbench and spilled the entire contents all over the garage !! Total loss due to this issue . :-(
