    This device is absolutely wonderful! I can see three birds visiting at the same time, something that traditional birdwatchers can't achieve. The design is beautiful, and it's easy to install and disassemble, making it convenient to refill food and clean the tray. Connecting the device to my phone is also very simple. Without it, I might have missed so many adorable birds. With it, I get numerous bird visitors every day, bringing life and joy to my balcony. It truly adds more fun to my daily routine!

    I've always been fascinated by the birds that visit my backyard, and the birdsnap® MON Smart Bird Feeder has taken my birdwatching experience to a whole new level. This innovative feeder combines a traditional bird feeder with a 2K camera and AI technology, allowing me to observe, identify, and learn about the birds that visit my backyard in a unique and engaging way.  

    The camera captures stunningly clear footage of the birds that visit the feeder, and the AI technology automatically identifies the species, providing me with a wealth of information about each bird. I can watch live footage of the birds on my phone or tablet, and the feeder also automatically records videos, creating a fascinating archive of my feathered visitors.

    The birdsnap® MON Smart Bird Feeder with Camera is a sleek 2K camera with a 32GB memory card. It promises birdwatchers the ability to capture footage up close and provide features like real-time alerts, light and sound controls, and a mobile app for remote monitoring.
    The initial unboxing was intimidating. It came with many parts. Even though the setup turned out to be relatively straightforward, I had to rely on a YouTube video to figure out where the screws went and how to insert the SD card. While the included manuals were helpful (especially the camera-focused one), I had to rely on the pictures in the second manual. There were these two little plastic tabs that fit inside the perch. They might be for attaching a hummingbird feeder, but the instructions didn’t mention them. It’s a small detail, but better explanations would have gone a long way. Setting up the bird feeder went smoothly. I strapped it to a tree, which worked fine, though even the strap took a little fiddling. The Android app setup was easy, and testing the light and alarm features worked too well—it made every dog in the area bark! The feeder offers multiple mounting options. The camera itself is outstanding: sharp, with excellent coverage. The feeder’s bold design sticks out like a sore thumb. A more natural-looking finish would help it blend into outdoor surroundings better. The product includes a 30-day free trial of its premium app features, but it's not cheap at $49 per year afterward. This feels steep compared to other products on the market that offer similar features. Considering the already high price tag of the feeder itself, it’s worth noting this extra cost before purchasing. I can say it’s a solid product; the camera is top-notch, and the app integration works well, but the price and the minor hurdles during setup (like unclear instructions and figuring out those plastic tabs) keep it from being a full five-star product. I’m still in testing mode, but I feel confident giving it four stars. It’s a worthwhile purchase for bird enthusiasts, but you might need to bring a little patience. If you’re looking for a high-quality smart bird feeder and are willing to invest a bit more upfront (and in ongoing subscription fees), the birdsnap® MON is a good option.

    This is my second “Bird Feeder with Camera”.My first one was really fun, but the camera now only works intermittently, due to corrosion inside the camera electronics. This feeder is nearly identical to my first one, which was made by EAOne.

    The manufacturers made great choices in colors, materials, and functions when they designed this bird feeder. It is obvious they spent a lot of time on everything from packaging to writing very clear instructions. The feeder is attractively molded in polypropylene plastic, so it is rigid without being brittle. That also makes it durable and displays the colors well. It is partially assembled, and the rest is easy because the instructions are excellently illustrated and written. There are several mounting options: bolt to a wall, strap on a tree, or attach to a pole. I chose to use a combo of the last two, because the soil is too soft in the location I wanted. The mount also allows the feeder to be rotated. The solar panel comes with a separate ball mount. So this set allows a lot of installation flexibility.

    Camera set up depends on using the Vico Home cell phone app across a wi-fi connection. Unfortunately, there is no desktop app and no wired connection available. I was surprised the Vico Home app is very easy to use and didn’t have any apparent bugs.

    Our feeder is set up beside a palm tree which is a favorite perch for some cardinals. The motion detection triggers the camera to see our Cardinal family come for bird seed several times per day. But without a subscription, each video is limited to 20 seconds..
