    Well I’ve bought several little shovels to keep in car for just in case situations… most would fold or collapse into smaller storable shapes but always seemed flimsy. This one the actual shovel is a very thick plastic with an aluminum edge which hopefully will cut through harder snow/ice situations. Haven’t actually used it yet but it comes with a nice little storage sack which may not hold up long term but for now seems ok.

    This is everything that one could want in an emergency snow shovel for a vehicle. It is compact, light, sturdy, easy to use, and durable. I particularly like the triangular cross section of the shovel's shaft; it makes it easy to hold and control. I also like the fact that the manufacturer put foam around part of the shaft; it makes the shaft more comfortable to grip (though I prefer assembling the shovel so that the "foam part" is on the lower part of the shaft and the extendable part on the upper part). It is a nice design feature that the shaft can be used in either direction; that is, both the blade and the handle will fit on either end of the shaft.

    I was afraid that the polypropylene blade would flex, but this is not the case; it seems durable and is especially good with the aluminum reinforcement on the tip. The shovel as a whole has a solid feel to it, though it is designed more for emergency (rather than everyday) use.

    My only reservation regarding this shovel is that the corners of this aluminum tip are quite sharp and so either make sure to keep the corner protectors that come with the shovel or file these sharp corners down a bit so that the corners do not catch and rip the storage bag. But that small reservation aside, this is a great emergency vehicle snow shovel and it (or something like it) should be a part of every vehicle's winter emergency kit.

    I am so impressed with this shovel. I am certainly going to buy one for each of my daughters. It's ideal for a woman to handle. They pretty much thought of everything. There is a metal blade on this, a wedge type edge, not sharp comes with corner protection covers. The shaft pops together very quickly with push release clasps. The shaft has a release to extend the length to several different stops for your comfort. The shaft has a bright orange rubber type cover/grip to keep your hand from getting too cold. Nice grip on the handle, opening large enough if you are wearing thick gloves/mittens they will fit through the opening. The shovel is designed well to leverage snow in it, but not so much that it can't be lifted off the ground. Everything fits into the included nylon drawstring bag. Lays fairly flat for easy trunk or backseat storage. If you ever get stuck on the road during a snowstorm having this with you could potentially save you a tow. This could even help dig your car out from a parking space. Great for gift giving, priced very reasonably for what you get.

    The quality of materials is very durable, and the design and assembly are impeccable.
    The shovel is lightweight, portable, the handle breaks down, and all pieces are easily storable in the accompanying bag, so it stays in my vehicle for emergencies. (2, 4-6)
    But the handle is also cushy (7) and extendable- adjustable to the size of the shoveler(get those kids out there!), as well as the type (wet and heavy to crystallized and light) and location (driveway, under tires, near buildings, etc) of the snow. (8-10)
    The shovel is also edged with a sharp steel blade that can cut through ice/icy snow. (3)
    If you're a winter camper, this is backpackable!
    And it comes with directions...
    This is one tough, handy, adaptable snow shovel, and is absolutely worth purchasing!

    If you're living up north, you need this in your car. I remember attending a college concert in New Hampshire and when it was over, there was a foot of snow on the ground that wasn't there when we arrived. I sure could have used this shovel that day. Somehow I got cleared out, but it wasn't easy. This should be in every northern car. The three pieces are super easy to assemble and disassemble, and they fit in a sturdy bag for storage. The handle has an exceptional grip, and while not as wide as a regular snow shovel, it is good enough to get you out of trouble. I keep mine in a trunk storage bin I got from Amazon. This isn't made to shovel your driveway or sidewalk. Be ready for winter with one of these.

    The compact shovel is the ideal size to keep in the car for emergencies. Its assembly and disassembly are straightforward—simply push and click. The extendable pole is convenient, measuring approximately 34 inches in its compact form, which is perfect for my son, and extends to about 44 inches, fitting me well. It provides sturdy shoveling action. Although we haven't received snow this season yet, I tested it by shoveling some heavy items around the house, and it proved to be capable of holding weight. The foam grip is excellent, offering solid support. Should there be any changes when used in the snow, I will update this review.

    Plastic, a bit flimsy, but will get you out of a tough situation in a pinch.

    This shovel has a flat/straight edge reinforced with aluminum, so that means it's for snow and you wouldn't use it for mud or dirt.

    Definitely not as sturdy as our home snow shovel. Just good enough to use if you're in an emergency but not appropriate for, and likely wouldn't hold up with, regular use. My husband is keeping this shovel in his cargo van this winter.
