The BUG-A-SALT Advanced Combat Fiber Optic 3.0 is hands down one of the most enjoyable pest-control tools out there. It’s designed to tackle flies and other small insects with precision, and it absolutely delivers.

    Features and Performance
This 3.0 model is a major upgrade with enhanced power and accuracy. The addition of the fiber optic sights is a game-changer—it makes it easy to aim, especially in low-light conditions. This model packs more punch than previous versions, ensuring quick, effective results without any mess. It’s efficient with salt too; each shot uses only a tiny bit, so you won’t be constantly refilling.

    Design and Comfort
The design feels solid and well-built, with a comfortable grip that’s easy to handle even for extended use. The safety feature is a nice touch, ensuring that it’s safe to have around the house when not in use. Plus, it’s fun to use—the pump action and sight make it feel like a real piece of equipment, and it’s surprisingly satisfying!

    Final Thoughts
The BUG-A-SALT Advanced Combat Fiber Optic 3.0 is perfect for anyone who wants a fun, effective way to handle pesky insects. It does exactly what it promises, and it’s surprisingly addictive to use. If you’re tired of swatting flies with the usual tools, this is worth every penny for pest control with a twist!

5.0 out of 5 stars Too much fun, a lot of improvement since the first generation.

Had one of these at a bar I worked at about 10 years ago. I remember it being a lot of fun then though it seemed a little janky and leaked salt out of the barrel.

Fast forward to 2 weeks ago I purchased a version 3 for my garage and I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. I jump at the chance to go hunt some flys and have even started bringing it to the flip house I've been working on.

Creators I hope you read this! Though I got the model with the fiber optic sights I couldn't help but epoxy and screw a picatinny rail on and mount a cheap red dot! Completely novelty but cool to be able to get use out of a cheap optic laying around and makes it easy easier to keep both eyes open whilst on the hunt. I was able to mount it low enough to still utilize the iron sights if removed. I even drilled into the clamshell to set a couple screws and the gun still works flawlessly. Would love to see this standard on a newer model.

Overall I couldn't be happier with the version 3 and will definitely be buying more in the future.

    (UPDATE)
it's now winter but after killing many many flies in my garage we had a crazy wave of yellow jackets for about a month. Enough to cause terror to my 6 year old and preventing her from playing outside. Though you need to be significantly closer to them this gun will kill yellow jackets. I'd say 50% of the time it's a one shot but at minimum it knocks them out of the air giving a good stomp opportunity. Ended up putting a sling on the gun and just wearing it outside.

5.0 out of 5 stars This bug-a-salt gun is effective at killing flies. It is also fun.

We have a lot of flies in our back yard and they come after us when we are grilling on the BBQ and eating meals outside. We have fly swatters but usually miss. Once we bought a salt gun, we started winning the war of the flies. These salt guns at 6" from the target usually kill the flies. If not, the flies are stunned and a second shot will finish the job. It is exciting to take out flies. Be advisd that the flies will return each night so be prepared to shoot whenever you cook out. We think that it is fun shooting those dirty, disease carrying flies so we do not mind.
We can now enjoy dinner on our back porch without being surrounded by nasty flies. Thank you salt gun people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Tool - Works as advertised

it is good for young teens / women to get those pesky bugs. Range for actual kill > Ex: spider 3' to damage enough to be fatal and will take 3-4 shots or so. Its cocking mechanism is a bit hard, but IMAO it is perfect.. young kids can't cock it and so keeps them from using it.

Newer design is better than my older model even!
I bought two of these, one for each of my adult sons for a birthday present recently. They loved them. I sure love mine, accurate, cool and unique.
They made a very unusual gift at a party, they look like 'toys' but they are designed for adults, as soon as they are loaded with salt, everyone is wailing for a turn with it! Everone went trooping out the door to practice with it one leaves and stuff. They also got a Mortons salt 'Ammo' can to go with them. Dont forget the salt, they will want to use it immediately. Fantastic product.

Not sure what I expected but this device is really well built. Pretty short range but works well for flies and in my case wasps (in the air) and the occasional spider. I have nothing against bugs but there are times when I need to protect myself and family.

Why wait for fly season, this is one of the best purchases I've made to date. Bought the laser attachment but wish it also had a flashlight available. I just bought one and tapped it to the barrel and is now excellent at night scaring away opossums and skunks. Bought one for my friend as an xmas gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars No fun for flies

This thing is way better than a fly swatter, ditch the bludgeoning weapon and upgrade your arsenal! With cheap ammunition, you can blast every fly, spider, and wasp the enters the threshold of your house. Beware...wasps are tough, so put like 5 or six rounds in the suckers and aim for the wings. I wiped out all the buggers in my house as soon as I unboxed this thing, and had to move outdoors to get a good clear death radius around the house. Happy hunting, and watch for ricochet in your eyes if you take a point blank shot against a wall.
