    This stuff worked perfectly, but 5 lbs isn't much. I would say, for a small area (walkway, porch, maybe short driveway) this is a one time use bag. Not so bad, maybe buy several and use one each time you need salt.

    The important thing is that it works, and it is paw friendly.

    I have a "tripod" dog that has to go down 8 outdoor steps to go to the bathroom. I bought this product fearful she would slip and fall from the steps (her amputation was during the summer). We had an ice storm and the steps got very icy. I threw several cups on the landings/steps. Waited a bit and it was working like magic. It dissolved enough of the ice that it was manageable for her to use/manage the stairs. Thankfully!

    I use a magnesium based liquid pre-spray before snowstorms on driveway and sidewalks that makes regular snow removal easy. Where the snow has been compressed into thick pads of ice, this product, applied after the storm, breaks up the thick ice faster, especially on the north side where the sun doesn't reach to melt it. A little makes a big difference.

    Package smaller than you think it is, only last 3 uses. Gave it 3 stars because although safe for pets, the salt rocks are huge! I have small dogs and it gets in between their paddings. For pets, usually it’s a smaller pebble or rock, these are like stepping on lego pieces for dogs!
