5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and easy to maneuver

I did the assembly in a snap as every piece goes in only one way. I screwed the three screws in place pretty easily. The material (metal) seems sturdy and it is lightweight. The handle is at the right height for me that I'm 5'10. I don't have snow yet so I tried it on the driveway with a carton box underneath and it seems pretty natural movement to push snow. I like the metal bar on the plastic blade because it should protect it from immediate wear.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, ergonomic snow shovel, loses a star for a key assembly problem I had to fix
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024
This is a great, ergonomic snow shovel that's low-weight thanks to its aluminum handle and its plastic scoop reinforced by an aluminum wear strip. It's easy to use, and it's shaped perfectly for multiple uses, from scooping and shoveling snow to pushing the snow out of the way. The handle has soft PVC grip strips on it that help out a ton when you're wearing gloves.

The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because of an assembly issue I had. I had to drill out some of the plastic in the hole in the scoop because the hole on one end wasn't completely correctly aligned.

It's pretty easy to assemble, with some screws with a fitted shape on the tip, and some screw holding rods that screw onto them. You can only assemble it correctly - aside from the scoop itself which confusingly seems like it would be easy to assemble upside-down. The Allen key is provided, which you use to tightly screw the pieces together - and you do in fact want to screw them together tightly, otherwise it could reduce the life of the shovel. Overall it only took me about 5 minutes to put the shovel together... Aside from the issue I had.

On my shovel at least, the bottom hole for the screw rod wasn't aligned quite right with the top hole that the screw went into. In practice, this made it completely impossible to assemble at all. I struggled for 15 minutes with that last step before finally deciding to drill out a bit of the plastic on the scoop, to make the hole a little bigger where it needed to be. It wasn't a huge amount of plastic that was out of line but it definitely isn't something a customer should have to deal with and I'm hoping it was just a one-off.

It's sturdy but lightweight, it doesn't feel too heavy for regular use, and so far it's holding up well. The handle is fully aluminum so it feels like it should last quite a while, and I like how the curve of the handle makes it easy to use both hands on the shovel without bending over or angling the shovel awkwardly. The PVC grips are also really nice, they're great for gloved hands especially, but they're also comfortable if you aren't wearing gloves.

The scoop is very large, as you can see in my pictures. It makes it easy to scoop up or even just push around large mounds of snow, though the more snow you're moving at once the more it will weigh - water is heavy! But it's a good size, I would say it's just about the perfect size. I also like the aluminum wear strip on the tip of the shovel, because without it I'd be a lot more worried about the shovel scraping against the sidewalk.

Overall, this is a really good snow shovel and I'm going to keep using it as the need pops up - obviously it's a lot less useful during certain parts of the year, so I'm only using it when there's actual snow to shovel.

I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis. I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review. I will not mince words. I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable. And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.

Most bassakwards instructions to assemble a 4 piece item I have ever seen! I am a general certified ASE mechanic and it took me over 20 mins to assemble pieces....I guess I have to learn to expect that from most items made in CHYNA!

I may have accidentally ran over my snow shovel at the end of last year. going into the season i knew i needed a new one and saw this pop up. The ergonomic handle does make a big difference when digging out that heavier snow. i have a bad back so this helpped a ton the first few big snowfalls this season. well built, quality construction and overall a great shovel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yeet some snow

I am happy to have this shovel since my old trusty shovel of 7 years decided to finally start cracking. The handle is plenty long enough for a tall person like myself. I am 6'6" and often find that common tools are a tad undersized for my frame, but not in this case. I was impressed that the included hardware had thread locker included since most similar items made overseas do not. I had no issues with assembly and had the shovel together within 5 minutes. Since the handle is made of multiple pieces I was worried about slop, but so far it has remained tight and sturdy. I am very happy with my snow shovel so far.

2.0 out of 5 stars Well, they tried....
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2024
The blade of the shovel is very wide and the design of the handle is meant to prevent muscle strain, but the assembly of the shovel is not as easy as you might think. The pieces are labeled with numbers which is helpful, but the holes to place the screws and nuts are misaligned on the pieces, and the screws are not threaded to match the nuts. Mine was so mis-matched, I could not put it together. I am debating whether to make a trip to the hardware store to try to get something more appropriate. I am misdirected time/effort/ and frustration of assembly is worth it. Not to mention the warning to keep out of hot temps. While not an issue in winter, how will it respond to storage in a hot summer shed? I'll stick to the snow shovels at my hardware store....no assembly required.
