4.0 out of 5 stars Used Twice - Second Time was Better!

I live in Grand Rapids, we get a lot of snow and I thought this would be great to clear our walkway and stairs. The snow that fell was definitely half snow half ice. It worked well when the snow was light and fluffy, but couldn't move the wetter stuff underneath. Just kept getting clogged and would just push the stuff around. I'm not sure the 40V one would do any better to be honest. It was only about 4 inches of snow and I think I put as much work in as if I were just to shovel it myself. I'll report back when I have more data. Initially disappointed.

Update: It's possible the battery wasn't as charged as I thought the first time. We had a huge snow storm in Grand Rapids and really needed this to come through. There was about 6 inches and it was heavy with a little ice. It chewed it up super quick! I was able to clear my stairs and walkway as well as about 15 yards of sidewalk on two sides of the house in about 18 minutes. Saved my back. Definitely a win.

Used it in a very light snow. Easy to assemble. A bit confused about the operation as I did not see the booklet! You need to hold two knobs to operate. It can easily remove the snow and throw it when I tired it on about an inch. As you walk up and down you can change the direction the snow is thrown. I could complete clearing my driveway in less than 5 minutes instead of the 15 to 20 minutes plus the heavy lifting i had to do. It is a smaller model and luckily we do not get too much snow. If it snows heavily, I have to go out during the snowfall to keep the driveway clear.

It is a good price for the capacity. I would choose the higher capacity snow blowers if you live in a frequent and heavy snow areas.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beats shoveling!

This Cordless, 20V rechargable 12 inch Snow Shovel was easy to use on our first snow fall of the year. It cut through the light snow very easy but was even picking up light stones that had made their way from the driveway to the sidewalk, so be mindful where you point the plastic blades. I wished the snow would shoot farther away I found myself having to be strategic so I didn't undo what I had just done so there was alot of stopping and readjusting the blades with every pass. The battery lasted the whole time and pops off easily and charges quickly. My husband wished the handle was a tad bit longer so if you're tall it might not be as convenient but I would find it similar height to a regular shovel and had a nice lower handle to really help push the shovel with ease. I did find that it didn't grab the snow but rather pushed it on our brand new stamped concrete walkway up to the house, it's a bit more slick than the sidewalk so we'll see with more snow if this is still a problem. I think this is convenient, you don't have to break your back shoveling but will definitely be tougher in heavy, wet snow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use

I live on a farm and our driveways are cleared with the skid loader. But every winter my hubby clears the sidewalks with a snow shovel. I was afraid he was going to have a heart attack. Plus he's got a bad back. So I ordered this and waited for snow. We finally got some and got to try it out. It went together quickly. It's a little heavy for us, but it does glide right down the sidewalk so it's not like we have to carry it to use it. Our sidewalks aren't very long but the battery lasted till we were done. It moved the snow right off, quicker and easier than any shoveling!

Although the product works well, the battery died and there is no charger for it in the box and now I have to spend money on a charger which is very disappointing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great and is MUCH better than a manual shovel

We don't get a lot of snow in the desert where I live, so I can't justify buying a full-sized blower like I used to have in PA. We do, however, get enough snow that my back kills for a few days after I spend a morning shoveling it out of my driveway and off the sidewalk. After our first real snow of the year, I pulled the trigger and ordered this powered shovel. It is a lifesaver. It's obviously not as powerful as a regular blower, but it works so much better and faster than trying to manually shovel which is a lifesaver for me as I get older.
