    This is an awesome heater! I received it today and brought straight out to use on the ice. It had my tent super warm and was great to look at. Starting the first time was tricky, but reading instructions printed on top of unit was a good idea ???? turn knob to left instead of accessory side on right and push dial in while pushing ignition button then holding in for 30 seconds. my old buddy heater which is about 12 is still working great!

    The duration of the 1lb bottle's is a bit short for me, Can't bring external source in house!! a lower btu setting would be helpful. Overall good to great product,

    I have the original Mr buddy heater it's about 20yrs old. It been through hell and back still working, only thing is the igniter don't work. Bounced around in back of 4 suvs. Everything from job site,camping and hunting in January. Love it hope this one lasts longer.

    We're not new - we've had the older versions of the buddy heaters and been fairly satisfied with their operation. We thought this FLEX model would work in our well ventilated SHIFTPOD during cold nights in the mountains. Both trips we've tried to use this product without success. It turns on and switches itself off in a matter of seconds. I know the unit works because I've function tested it at home but, on the trail up in the mountains, this expensive piece of crap just does not perform. You'll die from the cold long before you even get a chance to die of carbon monoxide poisoning.

    Update:
    I called customer service and explained that the Mr. Buddy Flex has NEVER worked in the field (usually ~6k ft elv) and their response was "product performance cannot be guaranteed due to variaous environmental factors." Basically, f me. The seller will not return the product and the manufacturer will not RMA it. I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with this company and their product. They have lost my business.

    Excellent heater. Works as advertised and puts out a lot of heat for its size. Will easily heat a tent, camper or small cabin BUT you will need to by a 20lb bottle adapter ($12-24) and use a BBQ 20lb bottle if you want it to run all night. The standard 1lb Colman bottles last maybe 2 hours max, so do yourself a favor and get the 20lb adapter for long term use. The heater itself is fantastic. Easy to use and quick to heat up a 4 man tent or a pickup overcab camper. So far the coldest I've been out in was 16f overnight (no snow) and the tent was plenty warn enough for me to be in my shorts. This is one product that actually works as well or better than advertised.
