    This is a very well made gas can manufactured with relatively thick plastic. The top and rear handles make it relatively easy to maneuver and hold with a full can. The down side of this can (as with all modern EPA approved gas cans) is the spout. First off, the instructions on how to use the spout are under the label on the front of the can and it is not obvious. My wife and I spent quite a bit of time trying to "release" the spout so it would pour. After finally finding the instructions we somewhat amazed and the poor design of the release mechanism. The instruction tell you to take the spout (presumably not on the can yet) and press the red release tab down on a flat surface until it clicks. Put spout on the can and, press the spouts black ledge (located just in front of the red release tab) on the lip of filler tube/tank you are trying to fill. As soon as you release the pressure on the ledge, the release valve snaps shut. My wife and I pushed repeatedly on the red release tab prior to finding the instructions, but I don't think there is a human alive that can press it down by hand. I did a quick hack on can's screw cap and cut off the locking loop that you have to press to unscrew it. I've done this with every gas can I own. I placed and order with Amazon for an "easy pour" spout to replace the crazy one that comes with the can and I would highly recommend that if you are going to buy this gas purchase one of the replacement easy pour spouts at the same time.

    Great can, like that it has 2 handles. Spout leaks, only because it arrived with torn gasket, would like to know where I can get a replacement gasket without returning whole thing.

    If you buy this gas can you better look it up on You Tube because you have to modify it to make it work.There is a filter in the can that has to be removed or you cant fill the can at a gas station.The nozzle has a spring in it that has to be removed because it doesnt lock in place.Stupidest idea for a gas can i've ever seen.

    I'd give the DESIGN idea for the spout on this gas can 5 stars. It's ingenious. In PRACTICE, you will probably end up with gas on your mower, equipment or hands. So that gets 2 stars or less. I'm only giving 3 stars because of the low price--and if you try hard you can make it work, sort of.
    The shut-off mechanism in the spout is supposed to only allow gas to flow when you're pouring it into an opening by pressing down on the lip of the opening and sliding upwards. But the resistance of the plastic "lock" on the neck of the tube is such that you have to do it with your fingers or you risk bending the spout to the point of breaking it due to the weight of a 5-gallon can. in addition, the length of the spout beyond this mechanism is such that you can't see the amount of gas that's going into the tank or--in two cases I've had--can't get the spout past a filter in the tank itself which means the gas is splashing back out of the tank well before the "lip" mechanism would have any chance of being useful.
    The spout fits tightly and does not leak so that's good. It's also easy to fill at the gas station to see where the level is.

    And one way I've found to avoid splashes when the can is full is to have someone hold the weight of the tank and help me slowly tip it so I can operate the spout end with both hands!! NOT ideal. You definitely get what you pay for.
