Watering this in every week for a month will completely eliminate your fungus gnat incursion.
We have a bit of a jungle house so we are never without a bag of this, because as you probably know, they like to try to find their way back in and hitch a ride on all kinds of products you bring indoors.
I find it easier to put the 4TB of granules into a pouch of cheesecloth to float in my watering can so that the corn granules don't clog the spout as I water.
    Stay vigilant plant comrades

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well for fungus gnat larvae
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2025
I bought this product to help with fungus gnats in potted house plants. The product works by using BTI bacteria added to a carrier material that always reminded me of crushed peanuts or something, you can see it in the picture. It does work well if directions are followed, you need to soak in water for 30 minutes and then skim off the floating bits. I run the solution through strainer to remove the rest of the bits that didn’t float. This is where I have my sole issue with the product as if you do not remove all of the mosquito bits from the water, they will clog most types of watering cans. If the carrier material was crushed to a powder this wouldn’t be as big of an issue. But overall as a relatively inexpensive and accessible pest control method I would recommend the product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as intended, Smells a little odd.

Smells like Yeast, kind of... It works, just cycle it well into your water and make sure you soak it right. If you have a unused blender you could blend it for more soakage etc. I think pairing this wait a topsoil that dries quickly is the the way to go for getting right of fungus bois.

We had a really bad gnat infestation following a tomato growing science project in an indoor grow tent. We were adding the same amount of water to every plant and a few became soggy breeding grounds. I let everything dry out, mixed the bits with water as instructed, and applied the water twice (one week apart). I also put out sticky traps to catch the adults. The problem was solved within 10 days. I'll keep using the product for my personal vegetable plants.

First of all, many of the people reviewing and giving derogatory reviews may not have a good understanding of what they are up against, and it takes patience to REALLY get rid of the FUNGUS GNATS you are up against. I just did not have the positive results out of ONLY JUST THIS ONE PRODUCT. Having said all of that, DON'T DESPAIR. YOU CAN GET RID OF THEM.

both illustrate the life cycles of these little buggers - and I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH before making my purchases. AND I DO MEAN PURCHASES, plural. NO one thing will do, because you have to be prepared to fight them at ALL STAGES, and invest in more than a couple days..
You need the Fungicide spray, or get the concentrate and mix 1 Tab with 1 quart in a CLEAN spray bottle. The instructions say 2-4 Tablespoons per gallon, but I didn't want to mix that much at one time, and I wanted to play it safe because someone said the straight concentrate killed their plant, but obviously they didn't read the instructions.
I also tried the Insecticidal Soap from Garden Safe which only knocked them down on contact. Also, I used the Mosquito Bits by Summit, with questionable results, since they weren't gone after that, but they might have just hatched and re-deposited eggs. Even though there are good reviews for them, I’m not sure I would bother with them and just stick with the fungicide and flags. Right know, I'm trying some sliced potatoes just buried in the soil to check to see if the larvae are still active, so I know where I am in the cycle(s).
You also need or at least it's nice to have the little yellow flags to see that you are catching them when they are flying. Believe me, they get into everything - your milk glass, soda, etc, and they showed up dead in piles under the night light on my end table lamp light that stays on at night. OH yes in your face and up your nose while you are on your computer, as they love CO2. I would rather have them fly into the yellow flags, but don't count on the 7 that come in the SAFETY Brand...oh don't get me wrong - they work great, but ONLY SEVEN!!!??? I'm not re-ordering that brand, I'm getting more from somewhere else. My 7 were LOADED, and I mean LOADED but this is only while they are in the already hatched phase and have laid god knows how many eggs that will hatch!!!! (by the way - the sand on the upper layer (the right kind) is a good idea, because it makes the gnats thin the soil is dried out, which is another in a list of remedies prescribed.

OK...I know I'm getting long winded, but you have to understand that if you don't treat them in different ways at the same time repeatedly, you won't lick the evil little $%#%$.
Repotting may help, too, but ONLY if you completely get rid of ALL the gnats flying in your house, ALL the spores in the pot (if you use it) and you buy good quality soil, and even then there is no guarantee they will not be present in either the soil, or the new plant.
ANY WAY YOU GET THE IDEA. PLEASE READ the links. Don't give up and keep trying. GOOD LUCK!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ended gnat problem in terrarium!
Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2024
I recently tried Mosquito Bits in my enclosed terrarium, where I was dealing with a massive gnat problem. With reptiles in the mix, I needed a solution that was both effective and safe. I’m thrilled to report that Mosquito Bits delivered fantastic results!

The convenience of simply soaking the bits, spraying the solution, and letting it work it's magic was a huge plus. I applied it twice over the course of two weeks, and I noticed a remarkable decrease in gnat activity. This product targets the larvae in the soil, which was perfect for my situation.

Within those two applications, I saw a significant reduction in the thousands of gnats that had taken over my terrarium. It’s reassuring to know that I could address the issue without harming my reptiles.

Overall, Mosquito Bits is an excellent solution for anyone struggling with gnats or other pests in a terrarium. It’s easy to use, highly effective, and has given me peace of mind in maintaining a healthy environment for my reptiles. I highly recommend it!

I did combine with the yellow sticky traps during the day when I knew my geckos would not be active, to target the adult gnats as well.

This killed the mosquito larvae in the water for my outdoor plant, but didn't harm the plant at all! Just a little sprinkle was all I needed. Every few weeks when I had to refill the water due to evaporation, I sprinkled some of this right after and had no issues with mosquitoes anymore! Still have plenty left over for when spring and summer come back around!
