    Strong and durable, just like the mountain range. I bought this for our fireplace up in the Southern Sierra mountains where we burn a lot of wood. The ember catcher gets fires going fast and keeps them going for a long time. We are currently burning almond which gets hot but doesn’t affect the durability even slightly.

    This grate works very well and fits into the wood stove insert into the fireplace. My only issue is that it would be helpful if there was a crossbar along the front and especially the back to help hold partially burned pieces from falling out.

    I can’t believe the quality of this grate for the price! I wasn’t sure what to expect other than liking the way it looks, but this thing is heavy and solid- totally happy with this purchase!

    I was supposed to use an andiron to build my brick oven fires on but it just didn’t work for me . This little grate was the perfect size at about 18 inches. The ember retainer held three starters just below the kindling to start a perfect fire every time. I could then slide the grate to different areas to heat the floor and then to the back of oven to get the entire oven hot. I am going to purchase another as a spare. Brick ovens burn very hot and I suspect the grate to be sacrificial.

    I needed to replace our fires place stand and this is almost perfect. I say almost perfect because I would have liked to have one 20 to 21 in but this seems very well made and we have already used it many times. It is probably going to last just as long as any other one I have ever had
